The Plan to fix things

I swear I can do it. Give me three monitors and a decent laptop. I just need a few websites and a few folks to keep me up to speed with our big board when selections are coming off the board.

I can do better than Baalke via the draft. At the minimum. Take that other $21.4M and use it towards a dedicated free agency purveyor and a guy that can connect with folks.

I'll handle the rest.
You're hired! Can I be your assistant and I'll only take $50,000 per year! That's always been my dream job, anyway. How could you beat it: doing what you love and helping your favorite team win all at once!

Seriously, the very sad thing is that we (and some others on this board) would truly do better than Baalke and Dave Caldwell. Not saying it is easy, but when I think of the boneheaded decisions they have mad it just makes me sick. Walker over Hutchinson when 31 G.M.'s would have done the opposite! Taking one OL in the last draft who can't even get on the field! Danielle Hunter was just about begging to be signed by the Jaguars; he may be the best pass rusher in the league and is still only 29. Instead, they sign Armstead for a guaranteed $28 million and he was coming off an injury. Of course, I could go on and on.

Err... Hunter took a contract with less money to come to the Texans.  Hehe, not sure where "just about begging to be signed by the Jaguars" comes from.  Tongue

Other than that I agree with your points, particularly with the lack of OL in the draft.  Hell Fautanu went right after the Jags traded down in the draft, and why they didn't double down on OL in FA is a mystery.  I think Harbaugh made a great point when he said that "he considers offensive linemen to be weapons."  I don't understand the disillusionment that Baalke and Harbaugh have with building a solid Oline.  A second round of adding shiny WRs when your QB doesn't have time to find them is asinine.

I saw on more than one sight that he was following Lawrence and the Jaguars on Twitter (X). He had been rumored to come here for the last 2 seasons. But you're right, "begging" was definitely a stretch. Baalke wants to always look like "the smartest guy in the room." He chose to re-sign Ezra Cleveland rather than go after someone like Robert Hunt who is a much more physical lineman and he graded over 80 in PFF last week. He would have cost more, but would have been worth it. While hindsight is always 20-20, imagine the Jags had signed Hunt and then drafted Zack Frazier in round 2 and a developmental guy like Christian Mahogany on day 3. All are bruisers who would have helped change the identity of the line. While I don't agree with everything Tony Boselli says, he feels strongly that the identity of a team is based much on how physical the offensive line is. The Jags had every opportunity to do this the past 2 seasons (passed on Torrence last year and traded back to get Brenton Strange in round 2). Instead they now have an over the hill Scherff,  32 year old Mitch Morse and Ezra Cleveland as the interior linemen!

Not needed. You can send those 2 pagers to the head offices of the Houston tinhorns and Tennessee tacks though. I also wouldn't mind Gal Gadot as my secretary. Is she available?

Should have traded that pick for a King's Ransom, kept Minshew and drafted Penei Sewell at LT.

That would of been fantastic but hindsight is 20/20. Lawrence is not the generational talent they hyped him up to me.  He may not be on the roster in a year or two.

Something has to give. It’s beyond repair. Replacement is the only option. Khan’s biggest and most important task is finding the part which needs replacement.

Fire Trent Baalke today. Now.

Khan never does a complete clean.  He sweeps the floor and the walls but leaves the old dusty webbed corners behind.  This team needs a complete overhaul.

Fire Sale!

I don't think any heads are rolling in season unless they [BLEEP] the bed a few more times. (very possible)

I think several roll in January, but how it plays out from here will determine which ones.

I won't defend any of them at this point. They are all complicit in this failure.

I mean in the past didn't Shad always wait until like December with the sole exception being Urban.

agreed wholeheartedly.

The fix it or else ultimatum should be on the table, and the leaders you've put in place to lead need to get working on the solution. If they fail to solve, they find themselves on the chopping block as well.

Will we ever get to a point where stability is the norm? I thought we were getting there.

If the season is lost before the trade deadline, here's what I would do as an owner:

- Fire the GM, hire a new one along the season
- Fire the HC
- Promote QB Coach to interim HC for remainder of the season
- Put the following players up for trade to accumulate draft picks or player swaps before the trade deadline:

DaVon Hamilton
Cam Robinson
Travis Etienne
Roy Robertson-Harris

- After end of season, replace the entire coaching staff. UPGRADE THE OL!!!!!!!! Release/Trade Brandon Scherff and Christian Kirk.

If done correctly, this wouldn't be a rebuilding process. Could see a 180.

Anyways, let's just see how this season plays out.

ok fixing is easy they just need to hear this speech.

"We review...
all the fears and anxiety

inherently symptomatic...

The mind is a strange thing, men.
We must begin by asking it...
..."What is losing?"

Losing is a disease...
...as contagious as polio.
Losing is a disease...
...as contagious as syphilis.
Losing is a disease...
...as contagious as bubonic plague...
... attacking one...
... but infecting all.
Ah, but curable.

Now, I want you to imagine...
...you are on a ship at sea...
...on a vast...
...calm ocean...
...gently rocking.
Gently rocking.
Gently rocking.
Gently rocking."
A new broom always sweeps clean.

Interesting ideas.

Absolutely agree with firing Baalke and trying to trade Robinson, Robertson-Harris and Hamilton. Won't get much for the last 2, but a good team in need of a left tackle might be willing to part with a day 2 pick for Cam. I'm torn on what to do with Pederson. He appears to be at a total loss for answers at this point.

Are you new? It's the Jaguars we are talking about. It's their habit to stank up the field.

I was optimistic as well but reality is hitting hard.

Does anyone have an opinion on hiring Mike Vrabel as HC? I floated this question in another thread but no response. I thought Strunk pulled the pin too soon.

I don't hate it.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
