***clots week thread***

We own them at home. Offense had a pulse last week, and their team is coming in without Taylor or Richardson.

Throwing what little optimism I have left out there. Jags 20, colts 10

20 to 10? That's it?

I am going with 27 to 10. Jaguars get it right this Sunday and play a complete game across the board.

You must be envisioning high fives all around post game next week then?

Absolutely. Every week really, unless I have a buzz and they're stinking it up, then it's me being mostly mean and slurry and a whole lot of:

20-17 Colts break the streak with Flacco putting up 250+ and 2 TDs

Coming in with Flacco instead or Richardson might be a good thing

Law of averages say we should win eventually. Of course it also says the clots are eventually going to win in Jax. I dunno, this team has been pretty consistently inconsistent. If the Jags struggle early I expect booing at the stadium which will rival the Gus Bradley era.

Optimistically then, I pick the Jags to finally get a W. 24-20.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Yeah, you were in rare form last night.  Good to see you back to your normal optimistic self.

Yeah, you were in rare form last night.  Good to see you back to your normal optimistic self.

I knocked back a six pack of German beers and then another half bottle of mead that was in the back of my fridge that needed to go.

I was chugging them. Not going to lie. Was riding a high from the night before with Alabama and Georgia coming through on my 5-hit parlay that I cashed in with the over/under line.

We'll see what this Sunday brings. They're getting closer week by week with the exception of the Buffalo game. Maybe they'll start clicking soon. It just feels like they're still working on figuring out their identity but that's apart of the process.

To me, it's a combination of everything I have been [BLEEP] about. You need what worked in 2022 that was quick and easy for Lawrence to get into a rhythm, with, a little bit more improvement with the running game, which they have been getting better at in 2024.

The play action game is there. The opportunities downfield are there. Lawrence has to adjust to having time in the pocket and not bailing out too soon or working on his ability to climb the pocket and use his frame to his advantage. For somebody that's 6'6 he sure as [BLEEP] seems to have a hard time seeing the field.

I'm taking a different approach to the games this year.

Sunday I watched the game by myself most of the time in an unused room at my business that has a large screen for conference presentations.
I stayed calm. Mostly.
I had low expectations.

When they lost, I calmly walked to my car, drove to a really good sushi joint and had some of the most delicious Toro and Mackerel Sashimi I've ever enjoyed, along with a crisp Asahi. It was my first beer of the day.

I'm going to try keeping that mindset for the next several weeks as this team tries to dig out of a very deep hole.

Zen-Because-Jaguars-Mode.

Of course, next week I'll be at the game.
I may try not to lose my voice getting loud on third down this time, though.
I'll be the serene pebble in the babbling brook as the cool waters of the stream and the problems of the ill-fated Jags wash over me undisturbed.

Who am I kidding? If Flacco lights up this defense and the offense can't answer I'm gonna lose my [BLEEP].

Once the initial shock of not living up to offseason hype wears off the first few weeks it becomes a bit easier to brace yourself for the potential coming storms every Sunday.

I personally would rather face Richardson than Flacco.  Think we will struggle to get pressure without Allen and this could be a problem.

I do think the fanbase is as angry as I can remember. Most years we have sucked we knew pretty much going into it that we weren’t going to contend.

Not the case this year, that and the fact that we are staring our touted franchise saving QB’s downfall of a year in the face is going to have fans who are attending the home games livid and ready to let everyone know just how they feel should these struggles continue.

That being said I, for some reason, think that we will win this game. I don’t know. I just think that once again we are familiar with this team, like last week, and this defense, and I’m hoping maybe Engram will come Back and give us a boost.

I’m not counting on it though and am going to take this same zen approach.

Flacco is going to SHRED this defense. JHA and Travon can’t get any pressure this year, and Armstead is a bust. Nielsens scheme only works with pressure from the front 4. The clots have some serious weapons in AD Mitchell and Josh Downs. I expect them to run the scoreboard up to 40+.

Are we certain it's Flacco that is starting?  I heard Richardson only had a hip pointer.  Is that such a serious injury that he can't play by Sunday?
