London Games
|
Just wondering if anyone here is going to the London Games? Particularly anyone flying over from the states for it.
I’m at the Patriots game, so if any of you fancy a beer with a UK Jag with a broad brummie (think peaky blinders) accent let me know. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I went the last 2 years but this team has sucked the fun out of that trip for me this year. It’s a great experience though. Enjoy!

Struggling to drive 25 miles to see this choking team, much less fly 3700 miles to see them.
I’m at the Wembley game. I used to do all the games every year, but stopped once they started using Twickenham and now Spurs ground. Absolute nightmare to get back from.
We usually head to the Green Man pub before the games, then somewhere showing the 6pms after We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Been twice, love London but not this year. Maybe next time. Cheers!
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I've been to see them once at Wembley. 2018 loss to the eagles. Cool to go see them but disappointing season that year.
Kind of a long story but had an invite to hang out on Shad's yacht before the fulham match the day before the jags game. It was parked in the middle of the thames in front of the tower of London. We didn't realize you had to be there at a certain time to be ferried to the yacht. The year before apparently it was docked by the edge of the river and you could just walk on whenever. Supposedly they were then taking speedboats up the river to the fulham game. Still can't believe I missed out on that. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. Oh, and did you get a Butter Chicken from an Indian Restaurant? I love Butter Chicken! But the English Breakfast. That sounds crazy. Give a good Burrito with hashbrowns, green chile, and some carne adovada. That's my jam.

I would argue a butter chicken is not really a proper curry if I’m honest. A Balti/Madras/Vindaloo is probably the most common 3 that the UK have adopted (Vindaloo super spicy but we had a song for our national soccer team for it so we have to claim it) (10-07-2024, 06:02 PM)Ordar Wrote: I’m at the Wembley game. Going to both, been to every jags London game. Bears game should be interesting. If the pats game is interesting something’s gone very wrong

British beans are less molasses and more ketchup than a typical American baked bean. The toast is the same. Kippered herring is optional, but it's good if you like fish. Healthy too! The big problem with English breakfast is the blood sausage. That stuff is just terrible. Nauseating in terms of texture, appearance, and taste. And specifically forbidden in the New Testament, for those who believe. (10-08-2024, 12:10 AM)Dockerill91 Wrote:(10-07-2024, 08:55 PM)carp8dm Wrote: How's the English Breakfast? Is it good? I mean, beans for breakfast??? Vindaloo was invented in England when an Indian chef working there wanted to really challenge his English customers. It's a culinary prank, basically. It's too simple and too spicy to be true Indian food. But it is delicious, if you're prepared.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
Haven't been to a game over there yet. Would love to make it happen one of these seasons.
Been to London a half dozen times for work and going back in March '25 (as well as Brighton, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin.) Hope you fans making the game will get good and loud on third downs for our defense. Best English breakfast I ever had was in a little B&B down in St. Ives. I couldn't eat for about a week, lol.

Well I am forever grateful to have the Jags come and play over here every season. I appreciate it's not loved by all, especially the season ticket holders who lose a game but thank you.
Love hearing your stories of being here. And just say hope you all stay safe with the hurricane.

I’m sure blood sausages are hugely common on a breakfast here if I’m honest I’ve certainly never had one! The hash browns make it for me! I love a hash brown with my breakfast. Not to nitpick, but Vindaloo was invented in India not England, the only curry that was invented over here was a Balti in my hometown of Birmingham (trust me on this brummies know their curry heritage! |
