He installed some confidence and standards and the players thrived in it. I didn't blame him for how last season ended and still thought he could get us out from the 0-4 start we had. We just needed to start doing the little things right again but there's so many things we just aren't doing well or right at this moment. I can't believe how bad the D looks. We've had some bad D's over the years but this one is right up there. It's how quickly and epically they collapse that gets me. They looked so good that first week in Miami, it's crazy how far they've dropped. In an ideal situation, Ben Johnson as HC/OC and someone like Saleh as DC I'd be happy with but can't see either rushing to come here.

Give it one more game. If they make Drake Maye and the New England Patriots look like the second coming of Tom Brady in his peak? [BLEEP] ALL OF THEM. I start cleaning house in London for this [BLEEP] show.

Lol. I truly thought he was the coach to bring a SB to Jax. The offensive talent is close to that caliber, imo (gotta work on OL and figure out the ETN situation). But they're close to being what we want them to be and what they should be. The defense, however, is completely unacceptable. No one will come here if Baalke remains GM

But, bring in a young GM who has played the game, and id be willing to bet the Jags can have their pick of whomever they wish. Opportunity to be HC of a team with a ton of offensive talent and a top pick in the draft, and opportunity to take over a defense that very likely has a brand new top pick added to it will be appealing....(10-13-2024, 12:31 PM)raptor6581 Wrote: Id say he deserves to be tied to the the axle in the wheel well on the way home more than he deserves seeing this thing out to the end. To a lesser extent, losing Wingard in the preseason may have had a bigger impact than we initially assigned to it. Couple that with Darby and Armstead being underwhelming. Hopefully Armstead still has some room for improvement after recovering from injury.

It's time for everyone to understand that nobody is coming to Jacksonville if they can avoid it. No young OC/DC is going to waste his opportunity to be HC for that.
I can't wait until the firing commences. This is just getting pathetic to watch.

I am at the point to where I would consider firing him and giving Saleh a call, or, at the minimum, give Kris Richard a shot. Richard is the defensive backs coach and that is one of our biggest problems, hard pass.
So Neilson was a good DC in Atlanta but terrible for us? I 'm conficent the reason for that isn't that he was lucky in Atlanta.
