Why Khan doesn't care.

#1

According to Forbes, "Each of the 32 NFL teams received just over $400,000,000 from the league office for the 2023 season.  Of this amount $100,000,000 was pure profit."  NFL TV Ad revenue alone was $3.4B.  Khan could care less if his team wins.

Today's game should have been billed as the Chicago Bears vs. The Bad News Bears.  Four dropped TDs, unbelieveable.

Revenue 2022-2023 season      Valuation       5 year Revenue Growth (Annualized)
Dallas Cowboys                             $1.140M                      $9B                           4%
Washington Commanders               $545M                         $6.18B                      2%
New England Patriots                     $684M                         $7.08B                      3%

Jacksonville Jaguars                       $517M                         $4.0B                        4%

Khan has no incentive to win.  All he has to do is put a team on the field and wait for the check.

He would make even more if we win. Therefore he absolutely want to win

Great thread start. Just going to leave this nugget here. Since Shad has taken over the Jags the team is … 61-140. Worst in the league since.

Unbelievable. This man has invested so much trying to obtain a winning team. You can question the execution but his desire is beyond reproach.

He's invested plenty of money but hasn't invested his will. My guess is he doesn't feel confident making big football team decisions and wants a right-hand man to give him the answers. That would be Baalke, but he won't fire Baalke because of said lack of confidence. It's an infuriating catch-22.

Khan won't fire Baalke until he has someone else to lean on. He got rid of Dave Caldwell because he could then lean on Baalke. But who is below Baalke that he could lean on? No one. Baalke is playing Khan like a fiddle because he knows Khan likes continuity.

All of this is pure speculation on my part. I admit to talking out of my [BLEEP], but I would be willing to bet there is a smidgen of truth to it.

He wants to win just doesn’t know what it takes, hires wrong people to run the team time and time again (Bradley, Marrone, Meyer, Coughlin, Pedereson, Baalke).

He also tried someone between him and the GM but that was Coughlin and it didn't work.

In terms of football, Shad is probably the worst owner in the league, and the record in his tenure reflects it.

Even that was more splash than practical. The guy between those shouldn't be a former coach who's known as a hard case, he should be an executive who manages both the field and the office to build consensus through collaboration. Baalke always seems to be at odds with everyone else, be it players, coaches, or the other office staff.

What you call lack of knowledge he calls a solid, profitable business plan owning a toy that he plays with occasionally.

Khan cares. He's just not very good at hiring the right people to run this franchise for him. Hate to break it to you, but, you could make this same argument or claim for roughly more than half of the ownership in the NFL.

He could have left Jacksonville with this landfill of a franchise. He didn't.

He could have told everybody to [BLEEP] off after the debacle and PR nightmare that Coughlin and Meyer created. He didn't.

He could have left this city as just the place he owns a team in, but, he didn't. He actually invested in the area, put a lot of money down and made some key upgrades and continues to invest in this city.

You can care and be bad at your job.
You can care and be unlucky or unfortunate.
You can care and just be in over your head.

This narrative is ridiculous and I honestly won't stand by and let this notion or nonsense go in check. Say what you want. The man cares. He'll show you that shortly when he makes yet another "bold" decision that a lot of us probably won't like. You know exactly where I am going with this.

He's more than likely going to can Pederson and Baalke and he's probably go into YOLO mode with this new stadium to play in and he's going to hand Lawrence and the entirety of the roster over to Bill Belichick. I don't know how I feel about it.

However, if Belichick is eager and willing to get back into coaching and team building? And he wants the all time winning record, or, even better, to shake off the notion he can't win the BIG ONE without Tom Brady? This is your chance to do it.

Sadly TC had the knowledge but his inability to adapt to the new demographic of the younger player mentality did him.  He was 100% correct calling out Ramsey for exploding on Marone on the sideline though.  Ramsey is a great talent but a weak [BLEEP] man.

I keep referring back to what the Commanders did.  They hired a 3rd party organization to find the next GM and then with the help of the GM they selected a HC.

I think Khan needs to bring in a 3rd party.  He should be calling the Commander's ownership group and get the number of the team that helped him hire their GM and HC.

Khan already did that.  Or at least I remember that being in the news about past hires because Khan didn't feel he had the experience to make the hires himself.
