I was comparing Wikipedia's count of votes so far and their estimate of the percentage of votes that had been counted. The numbers looked plausible in the middle of the night but as of right now they're still saying only 80% of votes have been counted which is not correct. Looking at AP's numbers and projecting based on what AP says is left to count, looks like Trump is going to end up with 75.5 million votes, only slightly more than the 74 million he got last time. Harris is projecting to get between 70 and 71 million votes.  Looks like a little over a million people switched their vote, but the bigger story is about 10 million Biden voters failed to show up for Harris.

The story is not the same in each state. Turnout seems to be up overall in Georgia and Wisconsin, but down overall in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

There is nothing wrong with a biracial person maintaining contact with both identities.  A lot of them choose to do it.  Some can't avoid it, depending on circumstances.

Well a white person wouldn't be biracial, but yes. No one calls it "white identity" but any European cultural expression could qualify.  Remember that there are usually a handful of white folks at your HBCUs and such.  Nothing is homogeneous.

Yeah that's what I was getting at.  At the very least it looks like a good segment may have been people who don't normally vote and don't care enough to vote got sent mail in ballots in 2020 at the behest of local Democrat law makers and those ballots were then aggressively harvested by the Dem ground game.  Is that technically illegal?  Probably not.  Does it smell like the legitimate will of the people? No.

I mean, in the defense of Dems who claim no shenanigans took place in 2020, their only option thrust upon them this year was Kamala.  Even they know that the sight of her leading our country against our global adversaries would have only enticed and incited those adversaries to align and invade the lower 48. So maybe a good portion did stay home. 10 millions seems really high though (and unbelievable).

Presidents don’t have that much impact on oil prices. It’s a global commodity. They can have a pretty big impact on the long term production of oil within the US and state governments have very different tax rates on gas.

There have always been echoes of Hitler in some of the things Trump does and says.
In a specific sense there will never be another Hitler.
In a general sense there have been a few already and Trump might be one.
They both said that their country was in decline due to internationalism and feminism and emphasized a resurgence of patriotism and manliness.
They both blamed minorities for problems that had nothing to do with those minorities.
They both threatened to ban and jail their political opponents.

But out of the two, only Hitler promised to start a war, only Hitler ever jailed other political parties, only Hitler took over all labor unions and all schools and universities. Only Hitler ever organized a private partisan street army, and only Hitler ever revoked the citizenship of the minorities he hated.

Basically, Trump could easily try to do more of the things Hitler did, and it would, at that point, be a more accurate comparison.
It's not hard to imagine.

But it's already way too close for comfort.
