Chick-Fil-A Takes Over KFC As Chicken King

RJ, I saw nothing in the video that surprised me, and it had nothing to do with whether or not the photo is faked. I would expect chickens today to grow faster and end up larger than in 1950, but that doesn't mean that the photo hasn't been exaggerated to make it's point.

Did you pay attention to the size of the chickens in that video?

I've seen chickens grown naturally, and I've seen chickens grown here by farmers who supply to Tyson and Perdue. In this century. There is nothing fake about that photo, but of course you are free to remain skeptical. One local grower has a daily chore that is just like what the woman in that video was doing, picking up chickens that died because they have grown so fast and so big their skeletal frame cannot support them.

My Wife brought home some chicken breasts the other day that were just unreal size wise. My uncle owned a chicken farm for Cargill/Tyson before they moved out of here and they were pumped some crazy stuff in the food and water. From a chick to a 6 pound bird in 6 weeks. Unreal.

Eat local, find an organic farmer.

On a side note, they are allowing people to own chickens in town now, I may take that up...

And no sadly, Hardees gave up chicken for some reason but, now they have tacos and crap....

They taste pretty good no matter what chemicals are in them. I will die ( hasn't been confirmed yet) someday, so why make a fuss about what makes them so good and tasty?

Hardees is Roy Rogers, right? They don't have chicken any more?? Bah....I know I used to go there mainly for the roast beef sandwiches, but on occasion I would get their chicken and it was good.

I don't even know where to start here, except perhaps to recommend you find a true organically farmed free range chicken and cook it. They taste better.

Quote:It's good to see the two of you falling over each other in an effort to discredit what I said. You both have still failed to do so. There is no JEA jail for people who don't wish to buy utilities.

Whether people are or are not likely to do so has nothing to do with anything I said. If you can't comprehend the point, perhaps you shouldn't try to refute it.

Won't the city condemn property that doesn't have utilities? Don't yell at me...I don't know...that's why I'm asking!! I just remember when a friend of mine was rehabbing a house in Springfield that had all the pipes and meter and stuff stolen before he bought it. He wasn't living in the house, just redoing it but the city showed up and condemned it and wouldn't even let him on the property until he had them.

And no...there wasn't anything structurally wrong with the house either, other than no running water or power.

Did they actually pass that here? I heard them talking about doing it, but I hadn't heard anything about it since.

Hardee's and Carls out west are the same thing. I think Roy Rogers and Hardee's are owned by the same company, but I think the restaurants are different.

My point was, that pretty much everything seems to give you cancer now-a-days. I don't have time to keep up with it all. I am going to die eventually. I've lived a decent life so far. Sure, I'd love it to go on forever. But, I think of the soldier who died at 19 and the girl who died at 8 because some pervert killed her after raping her and the father who died at 35 because he died in a car accident and so on and so forth. If I die at 55 from some cancer (pretty much every conceivable cancer runs in my family) sounds like my life was pretty darn good. I will agree with you that organic foods taste better. The closer you get it from its original form the better it tastes better and it's better for you. But if I'm going to eat fast food, give me CFA any day of the week it's good.

The local ordinance says that that utilities must be connected.  Connected and utilized are not the same thing though. That is the little caveat that my friends seemed to be oblivious to.

For instance, solar panels are an alternative to electricity purchased from a utility. Not only is it legal, but it is subsidized by the government. If one can afford enough solar power to negate any electrical usage, not only are they not charged for it, but they can sell it for a profit. Also, Water can be obtained via a well as opposed to city water. I know. Not only is my home piped for well water, as well as city water, it also serves as my air conditioning. Yes, I have no modern air conditioner in my home. I have a very deep well, and no matter what time of year, the water comes up at roughly 70 degrees. So, it is pumped up, and a sophisticated system uses that water to cool my home better then even the most modern freon based system.

I am not harassed by the city. I am not in violation of any laws. I have the mandated meters connected to my home. Those meters are there to assure the city that if I am not paying for their utilities, I am indeed not using them. THAT is the difference that my challenged friends haven't managed to understand.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

I think they're doing some kind of pilot program but, yeah it's going through.

Not sure about Roy Rogers...never been to one.

I know Carl's Jr out west is the same. Seems incredibly stupid to have to make two sets of marketing materials, napkins, trays, strays, ketchup, yadda yadda yadda.
