And you question why a nickel corner is lined up on the tight end, right? Guy is barely 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. Might as well gift wrap it for them.

Unclear he got hurt against the Texans and didn't return. Probably questionable and depends on if he can practice this week. 

Though if I'm the Lions, the Jags are the easiest defense left on their schedule, and the Lions already had their bye. I could see them keeping LaPorta out this week so that he is completely back for the rest of the season.

Trap games do not exist. It's just a myth and has no evidence of its existences. It's quiet annoying when NFL fans use that word.

You have this interesting mix of JaguarsWoman, CJB, OG Jagsfan and PeckerNation with a dash of mikesez going on in your takes and online persona here.  It's been fascinating to watch you assume each of those heel roles at times, but it's probably going to wear out its welcome sooner or later would be my guess.  Probably sooner.

Nickels have to cover TEs frequently. 
 And there aren't many 6'2" 215# nickels out there. 

Jones is a rookie in his 3rd or 4th start. 
I'll chalk it up to that.

We lost by 19 points to the Bears and by 16 points to the Patriots ---- I think the wheels fell off in London.

They thrive at picking apart defenses, and I don't see us forcing Goff into the same mistakes Darnold made.

The only way we keep it close is if they give us points, we're not dictating a thing in this game.

That's the worry. The best we can hope for is Detroit come in thinking ts already won and aren't prepared and are complacent and we play a perfect game. The problem is that isn't the Lions. Collinsworth said something I actually agree with on SNF, this Lions team has grit. They aren't a flashy team of egos and swagger. They are hard working, never say die and fight for everything.

I actually think we are going to win this game. We don't have any business winning it but I was in my bedroom the other day and I felt we are going to win. So there's that.

From day one that has been the identity of the coach and he has projected this on the team. They get guys who fit that bill or mold them into that mindframe. And look where it has gotten them.

THAT IS WHAT WE NEED. Unified mind focused on a common identifying trait.

I think the close losses are the bigger concern. Kinda rooting for an embarrassment on Sunday to grease the wheels of change. If we keep losing by 4 and 5, there might be just enough of a convincing argument that we are close, and just need one more year of draft and develop to get over the hump. And Shad's apprehension to  change will be on full display.

The other had a snake for a GM who had many coaches not want to work with him and had to settle for a retread HC who isn't sure if he wants to call plays with an outdated offense who also happens to hate his QB.

Isn't that the kick in the nether region? We technically have the higher ceiling QB, but they abandoned him and have squandered high picks, money, and fan excitement.
