True but I think Belichick will be wanting to make the GM decisions like he was in New England so I see similar problems. Belichick has a lot of characteristics that you want in a HC but I just don't think he's the right move. He's not a long term hire, I don't want his old coaches that have failed elsewhere to be his whole staff and his teams have looked bad since Brady. He's a safe move rather than a bold move and I think that's what we need.

It strikes me as a perfect Shad move, he's got reputation and past successes but does he fit the plan and team you have moving forwards? I don't think Shad has that future plan other than 'win'.

Urban was "bold", let's stay away from that. I think "bold" in this sense would be a Lincoln Riley/Dabo Swinney type splash hire but I would rather have the best guy available, if that be BB or someone else, so be it.

Why are people saying Baalke is connected to him? Just because they were in different areas of a team for 2 years doesn't mean they ever even talked.

Unless there is some documented history of them being friends, this is just people writing a story to fill whatever requirements they have for content.

Unfortunately I agree with you.  Khan will wait too long to fire them and the best candidates move on to more attractive teams.

I have that same concern but not that he will wait to fire them. He will fire them on Monday or at the end of the season. The issue is if he waits, he may not have anyone already hired doing a review of the org and figuring out who needs to be replaced. So he would then be one of the last teams to hire someone. He is already slow to act in the past, so he needs to figure out now who the right coach is.

He needs to fire Baalke, hire a new GM, and let them decide on the coach. Khan needs to stop trying to make decisions.

Seems like stupid logic though. He was a scout with the Jets when Belichick was just an assistant there.

Doug is sitting at home with a joint in one hand and a lighter in the other waiting on the call.

Genuine question - would any of you be ok with the front office being wiped out, a new EVP of football ops hires a GM, and retain Doug on the stipulation he has to bring in a new OC? As much as Pederson has been a disaster over the last 1.5 years this will be his first losing season. His biggest flaw is loyalty to his coaches to a fault. Doug would likely resign, but I would give him that option as Philly did the same before canning him. If the DC pick was forced on him I really feel like he was put in a [BLEEP] situation on that side of the ball. I know the man is cooked, just food for thought.

We already saw what happens when Doug is forced to change coordinators, we get Nielsen.
It is hard for a coach who's on his last leg anyway to recruit an up-and-coming coordinator. They would like to stay in one spot for more than a year.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

That's a no from me dawg. I have to imagine the players are over him at this point and if you bring in a new OC you might as well just make that guy the coach.

Doug clearly wants nothing to do with the defense and Press is supposedly responsible for the offense's "success" so if you bring in a new OC it's like the office space guys to Doug "what exactly would you say you do here?"

It’s irrelevant. For all in tents and porpoises, the names of Doug Pederson, Press Taylor, Ryan Nielsen and a host of others, will not be associated with the Jaguars in the near future. They’re dead men walking.

Khan hosted a yacht party for the national pakistan cricket game this morning. They lost, fired their coach, and announced an interim. Maybe khan learned something from it? Probably not.

Absolutely. I think the best move is to do it between today and tomorrow though. I really do. Get the narrative out there now, you have this week and the bye week to regroup with the interim coach, more than likely McCoy or Richard get that opportunity for the next six weeks, and then, let's go from there.

Make a decision on Lawrence this week. Let him start with new leadership at the driver seat coaching wise or shut him down for the rest of the year and get him prepared for 2025. Either way, the full sweep must happen at this point. But, again, feels like the right time to pull the trigger with that extra week to let the narrative breath and settle in.

if Khan does fire anyone rather its the gm,hc,or both???     the question then will be what losers does he hire then?   then what will the fluke record be the first year for jags that gets them into playoffs?  we all know thats whats gonna happen no matter what losers are hired. one fluke season, and then Boom!!! right back to losing.    we might as well get use to Loserville cause this team will never never never never ever be winners as long as khan as the owner.   Khan will be the fastest owner to 200,300,and 400 loses.  all the other owners on this list will  start winning  way before khan can.
