With Mac Jones as QB, I think most of those end up as losses. If Trevor does come back then yes the Jags could and probably should win all 4 of those games.

Right...  That's very true.  Mac Jones has one of the weakest arms I've ever seen.  But he also doesn't make many mistakes...  

Dude, Lawrence really just needs to take one for this franchise and go get his surgery right now.  Don't let them try and bring you back for a meaningless run to save the jobs of this terrible front office.

Plus doing the surgery now means he is not recovering while trying to care for his first kid. He should be healed enough to do whatever around the due date.

I was saying last night that Doug should play out the string...

But I really think we should have at least gotten rid of Baalke today.  If we fired him, we could get a jump start of researching who would be the best available GM...  Why wait to begin the search for a GM.

I get it, that you can't go intervewing HC's during the season.  That has to wait untill after Black Monday.  But there's no need to keep a lame duck GM that at this point of the season really isn't doing much anyways.  I'm seriously [BLEEP] in awe that Khan hasn't let Baalke go today.

Lol!! Just add it to the list of disappointments. Boy that's a long list. This team had just beaten me down so much this year. I try to find something to be positive, even if it's full blown denial and hopium....but the tanks empty. That's a disappointment!

The only thing that isn't a disappointment is this awesome place. You regulars are the one bright spot of this year. Another year of misery for us Brothers in Arms. One day we'll stage a full blown coup and take this team over ourselves.

We have no idea if Khan communicated with them after the Detroit game or not.

And we honestly don't know what the normal is, if there is a lot of communication or not. If anything Khan has appeared to want to put people in place and stay in the background to let them do their thing. The preseason comment about "the most talented team" was honestly out of character for him. Possibly because he was excited that all paths seemed to be pointing up with stadium, downtown, and the team.

It's possible he is just freezing them out for now until he makes a decision to act.

Your right that at this moment it's speculation. I'd be staggered personally if he hasn't spoken to them after the game. The team is 2-9 and has no fight left in it. I know he's not a very hands on owner but I hope he'd be expecting answers from Doug and Baalke. 

In his press conferences after the game Doug repeatedly said the team needs a break and the week off. I know how much the playoff win and 2 winning seasons meant to Shad and maybe he's just letting them ride the season out. I just hope he's not letting them use injuries and the players as an excuse and having these last games as a chance to prove they deserve one more chance.

I worry what that atmosphere will be like against Houston if he just sticks his head in the sand.

Given the numerous rumors and comments about a rift between Doug and Trevor, I don't see how Khan would be able to fire Baalke and keep Doug. 

Plus what good GM candidate would be okay being hamstrung by Doug in their first season, and having to tailor their FA/Draft selections for Doug's system, and then having delay resetting for another system if it fails?

If one of them is staying it's Baalke.

Another thing that has to be considered. No matter waht the Jags have to play outside Jacksonville in 2027, which will be a huge headache to all Jags fans. From a business standpoint, you have to do everything to increase the chances that there is hope for the team to be good that year. Otherwise it is even more likely that fan won't show up that year. Especially after a 2026 year with limited capacity probably meaning fewer season ticket holders that are more likely to continue.

So that means they can't flail around for both 2025 and 2026, and they probably have to make the playoffs in 2026. So if you keep either Baalke or Doug for 2025 and the Jags flounder again, Khan would be putting even more expectation/pressure on a new coach/GM for their first season that is honestly unreasonable.

Essentially, it is all the more reason to clean house now, to give a new coach and GM a year before having that pressure/expectation.
