Stinkin tacks week

#1
(This post was last modified: 12-03-2024, 05:36 PM by JagFan81. Edited 1 time in total.)

So the show goes on and this week we hit the home of inter-family marriages, that damn lot.

I know people are in tank mode. Trevors out, HC and GM are dead men walking and the team looks utterly defeated...but I want us to beat these guys. I can't ever hope we lose to them.

Weve got so many injuries and expected more fight from the team after the bye even if just for themselves but looks like everyone is done with this season

But beat the stinkin tacks please.

I hate the flaming thumbtacks as much as the next guy but i'm worried about an Andrew Luck situation. Way back then we won a game against the tanking colts that allowed them to ultimately select Andrew Luck who terrorized us for the next half decade or so. I am very afraid that if we somehow beat the Titans twice to end this season it will put them in striking distance for a QB that will make all future games against them more difficult. It's pretty obvious the other teams we're tied with at the top of the tankathon ... i mean draft order are looking for QB (Giants and Raiders) if we're above them in the order we can enact a kings ransom if there's someone trying to trade up for a QB; or at the very least gatekeep the Titans and other division/conference opponents from getting their QB.

With all that said, I just want something to cheer for. There's been too much misery, and if we can make the Titans miserable i'd find that acceptable. Regardless of what happens I'd say we "win" either way.
Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

That's a great way to look at it. There's a few teams with 3 wins and the Giants and Raiders are both 2-10 but we have to play the Raiders so it's going to be tight in the as you brilliantly put it tankathon...draft order. Thankfully we don't have to get #1 for a particular player. Plus an L Sunday further pushes the tacks up which means probably another year of the gone off mayo for them.

I always want us to win, even when there are 'benefits' to use losing but the tacks are a different game. We win I'm happy, Lose and I can find a silver lining.

I'd like to win, but this team looks lifeless out there. Look at the 3-9 Browns last night. Playing with energy and pride. Look around the league with the Panthers, Patriots, heck the tacks beat the tinhorns a few weeks ago. Mac Jones was the only one I felt in that 4th Q, who was playing with energy and pride, and it fed into the team. It was garbage time, but they started to make some plays. Up until that 4th Q we hadn't scored an offensive TD since the Vikings game in the 1st Q. The look visually like they just want the season to end yesterday.

You'd think a division rivalry game would get your juices flowing, but we will see. Tacks got some big boys in the middle of that D line. Sweat and Simmons are a handful, and that is where we are weakest.

tacks are playing better than we are right now .. even with their blowout loss to the commanders. A win at this point in the year will feel so hollow unless someone like BTj has like 200 yards or Bigsby runs for 180 or something crazy.

I really just want to keep making it harder and harder for Kahn to ignore its time for a culture change and that we clean house.

Right now I have no confidence that we are going to do so.

There's no way we're winning.  And I'm rooting for a loss.  I'm hoping that the entire front office and coaching staff burns.  These losers need to be tarred and feathered.

Hate 'em

I would love a win but... we probably going to keep getting smoked. Sad state really. In the multiverse, that other Jaguars team is tuning up their playoff run drumming the Tacks into the turf.

first team to 9 wins, just end the game at that point, it'll probably be some time in the late third or early fourth anyway.

I'm so numb at this point I don't even care. Probably another close loss. Should be enough to maintain status quo. Abandon hope all ye who enter, &c.

Your so right. I think we all are at this point. I don't think anyone even with their bleakest guess saw us being 2-10.

At this point I think I'd struggle to remember what to do when we win.

I'll be on the road this Sunday coming back up from Orlando. My eyes will be spared. Maybe not my ears though. I might try and give it a listen on the way up. All I want to hear is:

"Will Levis drops back and it's PIIIIIIICKED. It's PICKED OFF!". At least three times. That would be great.

After starting 0 - 4 i posted that we'd go 3 - 14. Im sticking with that, tho 2- 15 is a real possibility.

Rooting for a Jags loss. It's the best thing for the team. Only way to force Con Artist to fire Dougie P and Teflon Trent. I personally would love to see the Jags trade down from 1 to 3 in the draft with a QB-needy team. Still get someone like Travis Hunter.

I want them to win. I always want them to win. I'll watch the game and pull for them to win.

side note:  The NFL gave that mentally challenged nut case 3 games off. That means he will miss the Ravens, KC and Miami. He appealed and it was denied. He does get to play against the Titans in the last game.  They must be willing to risk Levis, but not the other QBs.
