It's a guarantee 4/5 on the O-line will be the same, and truthfully I don't see Scherff going anywhere. You going to cut him, eat 13M, and sign a high priced FA? Commit like 25 mil to ONE guard spot lol? Maybe even more, the top RG is getting paid 20M.

It's a tough pill to swallow, but they likely running it back with all 5 on the o line lol. So with that said, objectively, I'd say DB's is where we can get the most immediate improvement. Need 2 starting safeties and a corner across Campbell, and honestly maybe 2 corners because Campbell just can't seem to stay healthy. Depth at corner would be great, with JJ at nickle.

2025 is a void year for Scherff so he's an unrestricted free agent after the season. The Jags would have to offer and he would have to sign a new contract to play here next year. If he leaves then they take the big hit next year and he's still on the books for around $4 million for the next two after that. That's the issue with pushing out money, eventually you have to pay the guy who isn't here anymore.

The entire front office needs to be blown up.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

I hope for all our sakes that you're wrong.

Your explanation and logic has ruined my night and has lessened my ability to hope for anything positive.  We should be putting all our efforts in protecting Lawrence, and yet, apparently we're just not gonna do it.

I dont think the o-line is as bad as some of you think. They are weak, yes, but we saw them actually put some effort in after Trevor went down and we saw holes open up. The pass blocking hasnt been bad either. Bulk them up a bit and motivate them, coach them, and you probably just need to replace Scherf.

The interior defensive line though, wow. They are about as talentless as they come. Lacy? Ledbetter? Hamilton? Gimme a break, all duds.

I hope so too. It's disappointing and frustrating.

I believe this year we will draft 2 or more o-linemen maybe 3. Why you ask? Well this years draft is not as deep as last year's was so being the Jags it will be what we do. Of course we will wait as the first 2 rounds "shiny objects" will distract them. Of course since we need guards we will draft tackles and play them out of position. Say with our 2 3rd round picks a left tackle and make him play right guard and a right tackle and slot him for left guard. Whatever center is around in the 4th we will take feeding us some sort of fake news based on the length of his arm from the elbow to fingertips. Maybe he will oversized big toes or something who knows. ...Smile

We need tough, physical players on both lines. Guys with attitude, we have a few with physical talent but we need some Boselli style attitude players. I’ve always thought a team’s foundation is its line of scrimmage and we’re weak in that area.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

With the Denver win last night we are officially eliminated from the playoffs. Time for draft talk

Position is irrelevant. Just need more physical and tough players across the team.

This is a very good summation of all that has happened and will happen without change. Who knows maybe we will put out the fires at some point. Jacksonville burns and Khan fiddles.

As of right now

1. RG- we wont have one on the roster being Scherff is on the last year of his deal and tugboat is coming off an injury.

2. CB- Have to get one opposite Campbell

3. S -Could argue both safety spots but we need one starting safety at the very least.

4. Edge- we have nothing behind Allen and Walker

5. C and NT- depends on Hamiltons health and Morse

WC -WR, once again it depends on heath for me. Will Kirk and Davis be 100% come training camp?

I still feel like you have to give Trevor the best possible chance after the long-term extension, and double (or triple) down on the OL at 1. through FA and the draft to make up for the lack of talent in the prior years and a single RG is probably not enough.  Yes, I know there's already some financial investment...but it's not working.  Giving Trevor a reliable running game and a further increase in pocket time can only end up as a solid investment.  Eating up TOP, and resting the defense has an affect on both side of the ball.
