Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude.   Next season I want him gone.

Morse is the starter going into next year, Fortner can just be cut.

Draft might be for a new scheme next year. I think that if we stick with a zone scheme it can be Brailsford (Ala), Wilson (Ga), or Slaughter (Fla). If we move away from ZBS I want Majors (Tx) or Foster (Ks). The first group of guys are lighter while the latter two are going to play at 325 or larger at the next level.  I know Ratledge is in this discussion, but he's going to play guard at the next level IMO and I'd gladly take him to replace Scherff.

I always want road graders more than athletes for IOL though, so give me Majors to move Morse out by mid-season. He's work in any scheme, but he's a powerful at 325 and I think gives the best shot to clean up the interior next year.

Majors and Foster are good prospects. Good name drops there. This team has enough draft picks stockpiled to move up and solidify a key position or two in need of new blood. I am hoping it's not Baalke in the building, but, we'll see.

Been targeting Ratledge in RD2 since the end of November personally to replace Scherff. I also like Jacksonville State's Clay Webb as a day three prospect to potential push Cooper Hodges on the depth chart. 

A couple of other noteworthy guards:

Alabama's Tyler Booker (2nd RD), OSU's Donovan Jackson (Late 2nd RD/Early 3rd RD), Purdue's Marcus Mbow (4th/5th RD), Texas' D.J Campbell (4th RD) & Cincinnati's Luke Kandra (5th RD). All of these guys are solid prospects worth targeting. Mbow in particular with his size and weight. He'll probably test well at the combine. Booker and Campbell though are just straight up BEEF. They'll move bodies for sure on the ground.

Ratlege and Wilson staying next to each other at the next level good be a good thing and I think could upgrade our C and RG spots.  Going to pay very close attention to both in the playoffs.

I'd put the Ravens in the same group.  My feeling is that they weigh game-tape much higher than combine numbers, which plays into your "good players that played good competition" point.  Kyle Hamilton--Ravens safety taken at 14--is a great example of that.  He was a top 3-10 player who got knocked down the draft board due to his slow(ish) 40-time when he ran 4.59.  The Ravens loved his tape and scooped him up at 14, and he looks like an all-star.

It's pretty rare to have 6'4" strong safety and you can imagine how many passing lanes he takes away with his size alone.  The one thing that the combine can't measure is instincts and heart.  Teams that weigh the combine numbers heavily is why you see so many workout warriors taken ahead of where they should be based on their college performance.

Now there is nothing wrong with projects... They just belong at the 2nd-3rd day of the draft.

Depends on what you like most. Do you like the film, production, and game tape one puts out.  Or do you draft like Baalke and draft on traits and projection/upside.  There always has to be a little bit of a combo and hopefully our new GM drafts more on tape and production like the Egales, Lions, and Ravens.  Players will go up and down as it gets closer to the draft.  Number 1 for me is how a good a player is in games and then traits and combine numbers after that.

What do you think about Wilson at center?  I watch a good bit of Georgia games but I haven't seen them all.  When i.do watch them though that center and RG positions seem pretty stout.   I haven't seen you mention Wilson much but you don't think Wilson could be a day 1 starter at center and be an upgrade from what we have?  I'm very high on Ratledge as well and I think he would be a great pick in the 2nd, that's a big dude.

Wilson is decent. Georgia has been depleted on offense this year due to losing a lot of talent back in April to the draft. Beck has struggled without Bowers and McConkey and while Etienne has been a nice addition, it feels like neither him nor Frazier have outright separated themselves and taken over the RB1 role completely. Something that team has been missing for quite some time in my opinion.

I don't like Wilson as much as I liked Van Pran though. He's a little bit stronger but less technically sound in my opinion. A lot of his stock will hinge on how the CFP tournament goes. I don't think he's an immediate starter over Morse though. There's two Centers right now that I would probably start over Morse in 2025 immediately. Bryce Foster out of Kansas and Jake Majors out of Texas. 
 
Another pair of Centers that I think are being somewhat slept on as well are Cooper Mays out of Tennessee and Seth McLaughlin out of Ohio State. I would add either one of them in RD5/RD6. I know a lot of folks are high on Alabama's Brailsford and USC's Monheim. I am a little iffy on them. Especially Brailsford at 6'2, 275. He's athletic and can get to the second level but he's going to have to showcase top notch quickness in the cone drills and really, really impress me on the bench press before I consider him a day two option.

Monheim plays too tall and too light at times for my liking. He's had some "meh" performances this year when I saw USC playing here and there. The biggest positive on him though, and, I can say the same for Wisconsin's OT, Jack Nelson, is that, they offer versatility and have played various positions along the offensive line.
