I think any talk of Baalke staying is the fear that Shad doesn't see the problem. Baalke got to stay last time the HC was let go. I wouldn't be surprised if this is happening but I'm not going to bet on it.

The arguments about Kirk and Engram were mostly about money and in Engram's case a bit about scheme. Depending on who comes in at HC it could be that Engram isn't what they need at TE. I understand the argument about saving money but the thing is you still need to replace them with other high priced guys in FA. It was different if you had guys already on the roster. I don't think we have.

More than a fear that he doesn't see the problem, the fear is he has a history of allowing failure to go on for extended periods before doing anything about it. Whether he sees the problem or not isn't something we can know, but we can see he doesn't move quickly enough.

Since day one with Baalke and Pederson. This team has been in a constant midlife crisis state looking for it's identity.

Yeah, this is the key.  I don't even care if our D is suspect.  But when you get a good QB, you have to protect him.  I used to think that a good coach with the right OC could scheme a plan that would protect the QB.  But no.  It's become pretty obvious that you have to have at least a decent O-Line.  So why is our O-Line so bad?  Is it coaching?  Is it because they are old and have no juice left?  Is it the coaching?

What hurts the most is watching us waste really good talent.  ETN is not an all pro, he's solid.  Tank is also solid.  Engram has been such a great TE, and apparently we're gonna cut ties with him this offseason.  Kirk was dynamic but is now injury prone in his twilight career.  We had a really good window and it's closed because of the aging linemen in the middle and the lack of coaching that could have at least developed something serviceable.  Why is it that over that last 4 years we haven't developed anything other than the trash we watch week in and week out?  Bigsby and Strange have developed since last year.  But name another player that looks better now then they did last year!  I can't think of one.

The jests defense is bad.

Having said that, it's clear that running the football is the key to offensive success in Pederson's system. Lawrence is great in PA when the run game is working. The problem is that when they play good defenses the 5 constantly get beat by 3 or 4 which puts coverage pressure on the skills players to always play above their skills.

They have to fix the center and right guard this year, we can't go another year with the worst run blocking middle in the League.

You've got maybe 7 or 8 teams that had multiple impact players selected and a metric ton of meh that year.
Our draft was miserable, but that has little to do with what is happening now and why Baalke and his collaborators built this current squad backwards.

Who gives a [BLEEP] about 2020, just get a staff in here that can develop talent and then acquire talent in the trenches, secondary, and one more receiver.

Yep. Didn't have C.J Henderson nowhere near my radar and I couldn't even tell you who the [BLEEP] Chaisson was the night we drafted him. That was Caldwell's final big [BLEEP] you to the franchise. It almost felt like it was out of spite towards Coughlin for running off Ramsey and Ngakoue.

Minshew may not be anywhere near the talent that Lawrence is, however, in this division? You could have probably had a 10-11 win team on average on a cap friendly deal for years while adding around him where needed. 

10-11 wins on average in this division has been good enough to win it recently and at the minimum it gives you hope and experience to build around.

Yup, I wanted Wirfs and JJ or Winfield at 20. Whats crazy is Winfield fell to the 2nd and we could have got all 3 if we took JJ at 20

I have never seen these guys before but they are making a whole lot of sense. The staple of a team is built through the draft.  Obvious the Jaguars have failed to get the talent.  They were saying this about the 2020 draft and just looked at it.  Wow it is so pathetic.  This is also a reflection from Khan who held onto Dave Caldwell and let him do it.

We passed on CeeDee Lamb and selected CJ and then passed on Justin Jefferson (who was still on the board) when we drafted Chaisson.   Then, only then did we draft a WR in round 2.
