lose lose week

#1

we play titans this coming sunday. its a game we lose either way. if we win we lose,if we lose we lose.

if we somehow win titans get the #3 pick, and  shot to draft  sanuders as their qb,or hunter.   if we lose we are in the basement by ourselves.

the biggest problem i have though their is no way i can cheer for titans to win.  so as jags fans which losing option would be best for us?

Don't watch the game.

Go and enjoy life rather than being held captive by 53 men running around a field wearing the same color jersey.

Jags losing:
- Adds more fuel to firing both Pederson and Baalke
- Nets better draft spot that actually could have trade value.
- Makes harder for Tenn to get their QB
- ensures the last (4th) place schedule for 2025.

All those are much better pros than any emotional benefit the fans would get by beating the Titans.

I want to be lording a Super Bowl win over Titans fans at some point, not week 17 win when both teams are bad.

Any win against the Titans is a plus in my book

Especially since it would be a season sweep

As a kid, I grew up as an Oiler fans, only to watch Bud Adams trade Warren Moon and then move the team to Tennessee. I basically gave up on the NFL for like 15 years after that.

I have as much reason to hate the Titans as any 30 year Jags fan.

I want a NFL Championship banner for that franchise to have to stare at every year in Jacksonville. Heck, I want them to be team to have to watch the Ring and Banner ceremony in Jacksonville's stadium before the first NFL Thursday game after that Super bowl win.

If that takes losing a few regular season games in a lost season to get there, that is totally fine for me.

To bullet points 2-4 I would counter with:

- Don't worry about draft position when you have your QB.  Having the right pick to trade to the right team will be a needle threaded that you just can't bet on and outside of the QB position for QB needy teams, the non-QB needy teams in the top 5-10 picks are probably targeting different players/positions at the top of the draft anyway.

- What if the tittians fall in love with the wrong guy near the top of the draft and draft him and it sets them back 3 more years?  No guarantees in the draft.

- Few teams are perennial winners and playoff contenders.  That 4th place schedule, though nice on paper leading up to the 2025 season, may wind up being much tougher than initially thought as perhaps those other 4th place teams this year wind up flipping the script next year as we plan to do.  No guarantees in the schedule.

This rooting for your team to lose mentality when you have your QB for the foreseeable future is out smarting yourself.  I don't care if we lose given the reasons you posted as I am able to disconnect and move on shortly after a disappointing loss, but I'm not gonna sit in the stadium and watch the game and root for it to happen.  As much fantasy as I play, I found myself confused on whether I should cheer for BTJ's long TD late last game as it essentially knocked me out of the playoffs in one of my leagues and I hate that I didn't fully enjoy it.

I'm rooting for a loss. Mainly because I want to ensure 100% that both Baalke and Pederson are fired at the end of the season. Plus, I'd lose to see the Jags trade back and pick up some extra picks to entire one of the top HC/GM candidates to the Jags.

This division was ours for the picking. We have a capable QB and some skill players. Some decent drafts and this weak division would remain ours. Well at least some wins against division opponents to close out the season would be a positive.

Winning is always good. We get the right decision makers and draft position doesn't matter. We need solid drafts over flash and bang.

Yeah, I don't know whether I've been around here too long and the beat downs have affected me. But I just don't care to lose to the tacks and clots. Besides, if we actually get good leadership at the top (GM & HC) it really won't matter whether we have the #1 pick or the #10 pick.

It's funny, because I've always felt tanking would be best when your team is trash. But at this point, it's obvious that whether we get the #1 or not, if you have a terrible GM and a lazy HC, it won't even matter. If winning this week and next week saves Baalke and/or Doug we're gonna remain a terrible franchise.

These 2 games should not matter in terms of getting rid of these clowns. If these 2 games affect Shad's decision making, well, then we're [BLEEP] either way.

there is one guarantee in the nfl.   32 teams will play 17 games every season.  you play to win the game.   no one is getting fired at end of the season.

Ok. Y'all have sold me.

Let's go Jags. Show the Tacks and Donkey's the pecking order in the division.

Let's win both of these last 2 games like 30 to 0 with Mac throwing for 300 yd + 3 TD's in each game, BTJ and Strange both going over 100 yards + TD's in each games, and the Defense getting bunch of sacks, INT's and TD's.
