Besides which to the best of my knowledge the US did not pay for nor oversee the expansion project, completed in 2022, that allows for the larger cargo ships to pass through. Negotiate to achieve the ultimate end goal of all this, lower the toll costs charged to the USA for passage by 30% to bring them back to the 2019-era rates.
