Merry Christmas from Texas. And Mexico is paying for it. How high are they willing to bid? This may not work out in the Lt Gov's favor. We show less advertisements to registered users. You know Jack Nicholson was the villain in that movie, right? You know that's the scene where he stops pretending to be a good guy and finally admits he's evil?

Apparently, he was required to sell it. "The National Defense Authorization Act, also known as the NDAA, passed last year required the government to dispose of excess border wall materials by specific deadlines." https://news.azpm.org/s/100033-gop-mad-a...ey-passed/
Court orders Biden admin to stop selling border wall materials, was 'illegally subverting' laws: Texas AG
Texas has said it intends to do all it can to help the incoming administration build the wall at the southern border when Trump enters office. The Biden administration on Friday said it would stop selling off materials slated to be used to build a border wall ahead of the incoming Trump administration, which has promised to bring back tougher efforts to combat illegal immigration. The Biden administration confirmed to a court that it will agree to a court order preventing it from disposing of any further border wall materials over the next 30 days, allowing President-elect Trump to use those materials, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/court-o...s-texas-ag ![]()

So what's the real story here? I am reading that the law required Biden to sell it off, and that Texas has gone to court to stop him from doing that. Is that about it?

Why would the law require for it to be sold off?

I would guess that, in the middle of 2023, the Republican lawmaker who put this in the Defense Authorization Act wasn't thinking that the materials would ever be used for their intended purpose and decided they shouldn't just sit there rusting when we can get some money for them. Yes. This entire thread, which was completely based on a false assumption and misinformation, could have been avoided if Biden had not stopped construction of the wall in the first place. |
