Coaching Firings/ Personnel Changes

We barely beat a team that is probably worse than us, although I don't know if that's possible. It provides reason to cheer. That's about it. Khan is cleaning house.

Dammit, Shad. Don't let us down.

Ya'll saw the plane with the "Fire Baalke" sign on it right?

I mean, for the love of all that is good, Shad has to fire Baalke and Pederson. It just has to happen...

Uh... I missed the embrace.

Apparently Atlanta's secondary has better players than ours. It's the only thing I can attribute to the Jags secondary being so poor all year.

I'd prefer to coach the Jags over the Bears, I guess that means the job is suddenly open.

The rest of the tweet was cut off. The end part says:

I mean I don't actually recall any true leaks from Khan or his true inside, inside circle before. Normally the leaks would happen when they shared stuff with people outside that group, but if that had happened, there would be way more confirmation than there is now.

Basically, no one outside the owners knows anything at all what Tony Khan and Shad Khan are going to do.

Who is the guy talking? Never heard of him before. Where'd he get this inside dope from?

I hope the Jags aren't considering any of these names. Kind of crazy for the Jets to do so, but they are effectively run by teenagers:

Quote:Former Jets coach Rex Ryan said Monday on ESPN New York radio that he expects to interview for the team's head coaching job. Besides Ryan, the team is also expected to interview Ron Rivera, a source confirmed to ESPN.

The Jets have already interviewed three candidates for their GM vacancy: former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, former Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson and Reese's Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy. The Jets are also expected to interview ESPN analyst Louis Riddick for the post, sources have told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Jets retained The 33rd Team to provide data analysis and experience in their searches for both positions. Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum and former Minnesota Vikings GM Rick Spielman, who served as an adviser for the Washington Commanders ' GM and coaching searches last year, are leading the project for The 33rd Team.

i keep seeing his name pop up, and I'd love it to be true, but is Tony Boselli truly an EVP candidate?    Or is it simply fan hope?

I'm pretty sure both Doug/Press and Trent are gone.

Would be nice if Tony helped the next GM with football decisions.

Albright is pretty well connected.

Here’s Breer saying they’re both done.

Nobody really knows.

1010XL, the Jaguars radio media, floated the idea around late October/early November that Boselli was or should be considered as the EVP.

I spent several weeks fantasizing about it and thinking it was a good idea.  Honestly, I still think it's a good idea.  But nobody knows what's happening.

Dan Hicken said it best, Shad and his inner circle play it close to the vest.  All we can do is really wait another 7 days to see what's happening.  Nobody really knows but the owner and the 2 or 3 people he talks to about the franchise.

Personally, I like the idea of having Boselli as the EVP helping Shad figure out how to run an NFL franchise.  If Shad trusts Tony, Tony would be a good pick to help advise.  Tony is highly respected by most.  Not just fans, but NFL insiders respect him too.  He's level leaded.  He's an NFL HOFer, and he seems to have good insight on how best to build a team.  Tony constantly talks about building a team from the trenches.  And let's be honest, that's the way most successful teams build their rosters.

7 Days.  We'll figure out our fate.

I like your idea of having a former player take over as EVP. Maybe MJD if not Tony.

MJD has even less experience for EVP role.

The position needs to know how to run a team, not just know or have played in the NFL. There could be positions Tony could fill but I doubt he wants to be the EVP.

Without there being an EVP, Tony could certainly help make better decisions like firing Baalke and Doug.

Look man, EVPs just stand there waving a team flag and pick a GM every few years. It's not like they actually do anything important, anyone with even tangential experience with pro football can do it.

I think MJD has the heart of a lion and brings a winning spirit. He is also a smart guy and a good communicator. Those are traits we could use. He knows a lot more about football than Khan.
