Burrow is the MVP this year, based on the crap defense hes had most of the year. He s carried that team like a franchise QB is expected to.

LOL. I like how some of you guys are still waiting on the "Prince that was Promised" Trevor Lawrence until year 5 to show that he has "IT" consistently, yet you've already written off Stroud due to a slump in year 2.

Caleb Williams has had a better year than Stroud

but I'd rather have Stroud as my QB of the future, sometimes stats don't tell the whole story.

They both suck, someimes wins and losses dont tell the whole story. Thats like saying one turd is shinier than the other although i think Williams has more upside. id probably take Bryce Young over both.

Mac Jones finished the season above Stroud. Good to see

I hope the Panthers get Tee Higgins. Or get the a number 1 WR and good TE and I could see them competing to win the division next year with Derrick Brown coming back. They have to fix that defense as well though. Bryce Young was my top QB in that draft and it will be interesting if they can continue to develop him. No player outside from Darnold improved more than Bryce did imo

CJ put up a 90.7 Passer Rating, Completed 66.6%, and average 8.5yds per throw for 282 yds against an 11-6 team and the 7th rated pass defense. Wasn't his best game, but you can win with those numbers and a DeMeco defense.

Yea especially when the other team's QB throws 4 INTs.

Yup, won because of that defense, Texans have a great defense.  Hopefully we can revamp our D this offseason. Our defense is the biggestt reason we are were we are right now

I've been something of a CJ defender around here, but the stats don't well represent the play. He had multiple dropped interceptions and his "good" passes were either quick slants that Collins made a play out of, or heaves to uncovered guys.

The texans won because of a good team effort (especially on defense) but CJ was along for the ride, yesterday, not pulling the cart.

Also got away with intentionally grounding while in the endzone

tinhorns played well yesterday. Sometimes that happens for teams that struggle a bit leading up to the playoffs. The light comes on or perhaps the opposition [BLEEP] their pants which helps. I think we're back to revisiting how overhyped Herbert gets annually though.

Hehe, like I said it wasn't his best game and there is no doubt that the defense kept them in the game.  But the fact that he turned a terrible snap into a 34 yard gain (on 3rd and 16) is the play that turned the Houston offense around.  The offense put 10 points up at the end of the half (including a 24 second FG) and they never relinquished the lead.  He also had to deal with an early fumble by Metchie, and a fumble by Mixon in the red zone (that took a score off the board.)

But it was a full team win like you said (special teams should really get noticed: 1 blocked punt and 1 blocked extra point that turned into 2 points to keep momentum on their side.)  Mixon also dominated the game in the 2nd half, running for 106yds and a 99 yard TD drive that absolutely sealed the game.

I haven’t written him off but I do find it funny the defenses for strouds slump are hand waived by some for TL

I give stroud credit for hanging in there yesterday. He had an awful start. But he will have to be better to beat the Ratbird/bills/Kansas indigenous persons football team on the road

...

Wasn't that the same drive that should have already ended in a safety when he intentionally grounded from the end zone and the refs got it horribly wrong?

CJ put up a 95.7 Passer Rating, Completed 67.8%, and average 8.8yds per throw for 245 yds against an 16-1 team in a loss. He was sacked 8 times in the game, and left the game hobbled at the very end.

So for a QB who certainly had a sophmore slump, he did put some of his game back together for the playoffs.

For most of the game, they were able to run the ball effectively which allowed him space and time to be effective. Once they stopped running the ball on the last 3 drives, he got some yards but he let the pressure get to him.
