Liam Coen in the lead per betting odds.
No DC is going to leave their team to be the Jags DC.

That would only apply to the former HCs.

Saleh qualifies for this. So does Graham potentially as Davis might make the decision to part ways with Antonio Pearce.

Is John Gruden on the table?

We should request to interview Marcus Freeman. I doubt he would want to leave ND, and he probably wouldn’t interview while they are still in the CFP.

Phineas Taylor Sans is an up and coming coach from the LFA in Mexico where he has lead the Moterrey Fundidores to two championships.

Said to be a disciple of Chip Kelly and Nate Scarborough.

Has my vote.

Unless they have prior NFL coaching experience, college coaches have a poor track record in the NFL.

On a side note, it’s good to see Freeman doing so well at ND. His start there was very rough and it looked as though he might’ve been in over his head, but he got it all sorted out and looks to have a very bright coaching future. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make the transition into professional ball within the next five years.

This is interesting. Pete Prisco is saying the new structure is for the head coach to have power over the GM. So having Baalke there should not be a problem.

If the HC is gonna have power over the GM why are we keeping Baalke.

Surely you should get the coach a GM he wants

Something deep in my gut says we’ll end up with Kellen Moore.

Or it’s the street tacos I had last night.

Still not keen on the idea of Baalke being involved in interviewing guys who could have him fired

I am fine with that. He can bring over Roy Anderson or Christian Parker from their defensive secondary coaching staff to take a stab at running the defense as a play caller as well.

If what Pete Priscois reporting is accurate, Baalke is either going to be gone, or his decision making power will be neutered by a HC with ability to overrule him.

It's weird, but it's how they are getting the HC interviews they want, so I get it.

Whether it’s Moore or not…who I certainly wouldn’t mind, I think what we need is a young mind and not some retread.  This is the way the successful NFL teams are going now.  This was why I was one of the few that wanted Leftwich during the last search.  It had ZERO to do that he was a former Jag (sorry flgoofnjags).  Would he have been successful…who knows.  Would we have been in any worse shape now?  Probably not.  Please no [BLEEP] retreads!!

Agreed. We need to follow the trend and get onboard with the youth movement. At least with Leftwich we would have seen some of Bruce Arians concepts and there's historically been plenty to like about his approach to the game.

We have to get this hiring cycle right this time.

I give him the best odds for getting the job. He's used to working with crap rosters, he's a defensive minded guy, he's got ties to SF, and he's already shown that he will be the bigger person when the dook hits the fan. Management will be overly enamored with all of these qualities, he'll be a misfit for what we want to do, lather, rinse, repeat.

Don't bother desiring nice things. It only leads to disappointment.

Graham I don’t know nothing about

I’m from NY and I can promise you Salah is the last guy you want here. His teams are unprepared and undisciplined and he never holds anyone accountable. Most of my friends are die hard jets fans and they’ve wanted him gone for the last 2 years and with good reason. He’s awful. Basically a very expensive head cheerleader.
