Yeah. That's about it. In a tough [BLEEP] division as well. Johnson would probably have fun with Bowers as a play caller for sure. It would just be difficult carving out a path in the play-off's when you're contesting with the Chiefs and what looks like bright futures with the Chargers with Harbaugh and the Broncos with Payton.

It's just a stacked division with not only great rosters and football talent but also some of the best coaching in the business with a lot of know-how and staying power. I just don't see it being the best bet if I am a coaching candidate right now. Feels like he'd get chewed up and spit out quickly out west.

I would take the Jets or Patriots job over the Raiders job personally. I would stay away from Chicago for the same reason I would stay away from Las Vegas. Just too damn stacked division wise to carve a path out. The path of least resistance is in the AFC South in my opinion and it starts here in Jacksonville.

I would also want the crown personally, of, being THE coach that maximized Trevor Lawrence and elevated him to where he should have been all along as an elite NFL caliber QB. Ben Johnson can do that. Joe Brady can do that. Liam Coen can do that.

The Raiders are the only team that fired their GM that are in the BJ sweepstakes and its rumored BJ wants to bring in his own GM so theres that.  If Khan tells BJ that Baalke is going to a different role and he can bring in his own GM we might end up the favorites to land him.   The Raiders firing Telesco only makes sense if they are going all out for BJ being he wants to pick his own GM because I thought Telesco had one of the best drafts last year.  The Raiders fans were pissed after the announcement of the Telesco firing.

Just completed the interview with BJ

I wonder if the rumor mill will have some info on this interview?

He is the guy most people seem to want. I would want to know how he sees Trevor. What is he going to change to get the most out of him? To me that's the central question.

I don't get it. I really don't. I find nothing appealing about living and working in Las Vegas with Mark Davis. In addition, you're going to be in the AFC West, the division that just yielded the best team overall record wise, including two additional play off teams with stout defenses to contest with.

Unless it's just the idea of maybe being around or working with Tom Brady. That team also has no QB and there's no guarantee you'll land the right one in the draft come April.

All of this...

Ben is everyone's first pick.  But there are are a few more good options out there if Ben picks with his heart (love for Tommy Massage) instead of his head.  It's not like Ben Johnson is the only top tier young coaching prospect out there...  Plus, depending on how fickle Pittsburg is, there may be a certain veteran HC that may come available...
While Tomlin has a high floor, the ceiling is basically the same. There is 0 reason to hire him. He can't win a playoff game in how long?

He is a slightly better Del Rio.

I think you’ll hear how the interviews went tomorrow.

I’ll be intrigued by the Coen interview next week as well as Salah.

I really want Coen, Ben Johnson or Glenn.

If not them, I’m actually not opposed to Salah. But they should be able to get one of the top 3 dudes.

We have no clue who the top of the list is. Khan makes statements like he wants to listen to the people he is interviewing on what to change. He admits he doesn't know anything about football but then turns around and ignores everyone saying the problem is sitting next to you.

It's the same thing that happened last time. Other teams will make hires and the Jags will still be interviewing their 10-15 coaches.

This, I think Ben Johnson is number 1 for everyone except the Pats but nobody knows who number 2 is.  It might be different for every team.

Didnt realize there was a dilla imposter. As far as the real Dilla, he had a few hits early on. But now he is being used. Take anything he says with a grain of salt these days.

I am smart enough to realize I do not know who should be the coach. I keep hearing people wanting Ben Johnson but I don't know if he is a leader of men. I question how a first time head coach meshes with a young team that clearly needs structure. Just because they are a good coordinator doesn't make them a good head coach. We need a leader of men and one with passion. Doug was so dry.

I wonder if Shad says "you know" every 3 words like he did the other day. Any smart person would avoid a guy who talks like that.

Doesn't matter who Shad / Baalke pick, it'll inevitably be the wrong choice.

No, not Saleh...ever. As a coordinator? Okay. Not as a HC. I can't think of a better candidate to continue the Jaguars record of mediocre to bad.

Saleh was bad with the Jets. Even if the defense had it's moments. He never finished better than 3rd in the AFC East. He's another guy where I worry about his overall network and capabilities of hiring a complete and competent coaching staff.

I reserve my right to complain. Not really though because I have eyes to see but I don't know these candidates. I really hope we can figure this out and get a guy that can reestablish Jaguar football and full on Duuvaal.

I still want Baalke and Johnnie O heave Hoed but the amount of pull i have is less than zero. I will just hang my hat on being the few that post on message boards. This is as close as I get to social media.

I hope I live long enough to see dreams realized.

Saleh is not my top choice by any means.

But I think he was given a raw deal in NY when it came to the offense and QB play. Zach Wilson, Mike White, Trevor Simeon and the corpse of Aaron Rodgers?

Then once they had Rodgers, the owner did whatever Rodgers wanted. Lazard, Cobb, Hackett and Adams. Salah didn’t have control of that.

Again, not my top choice but the Jags would be tough.

Saleh would be a great get if we can get him for DC. For HC? Hard pass. He is one of if not my top guy for DC though.
