Some fans get spoiled.  Tomlin been head coach there for 18 years and has never had a season with a losing record.  It's pretty amazing.

And he hasn't won a playoff game since 2016. He is average. That's Jags level bad at winning in the playoffs once a decade.

Tomlin is 8-11 in the post season which isn't great but isn't as bad as you are trying to make it sound.  Picking in the second half of the draft every single year for almost two decades makes it tough to acquire enough elite talent that's needed to push a team over the top in the playoffs.  If you think 18 straight non-losing seasons is "average", I don't think you know the definition of "average".  The NFL has a system that encourages parity.  It's extremely tough to be good for that many years without having to do a rebuild or having a bad year.  He's currently ranked 12th in NFL history in wins and he's only 52.

I don't even see the appeal in Brady.  Being a great player doesn't mean that you will be good in the front office.  Bowers is a great player, but that wouldn't be remotely enough to make me want to go to the Raiders.  They don't have a quarterback and aren't drafting high enough to get one. You are then in the same division with the best team in the NFL and two other very good teams.  Jacksonville is a much more attractive job.

He's also won a superbowl, and I really can't stress enough how cheap the Rooney's are. The frustration and cries that fan base is having should be toward the GM/Ownership. Tomlin gets the best out of a lunchable box.

A supposed great HC, he can't get a QB to sign with him, can't get the GM to get a good QB. Why would the Jags want a coach like that? It's admitting you are fine not winning the super bowl. I guess it may better to win more games but that just makes you get more upset when they lose in the playoffs.

The Jags might as well stay with losing coaches and you can free up Sundays by mid Oct.

I like Ben Johnson as an X's and O's guy but I am not so sure about him as a leader of men. All the young X's and O's wunderkind coaches flash but never take it to the next level. Look at all the currently successful coaches making big and lasting runs - all of them are charismatic leaders not exactly known for their genius schemes. Rather, they are known for their ability to lead, develop talent, and find the right personnel. Who knows, maybe Ben Johnson is both, but if he were, I don't think we are a lucky enough franchise to land that type of person.

This is where I'm at...to a point.

I consider Mike Tomlin a great leader of men...but a slightly above average head coach...and a HORRIBLE situational HC.

I've seen over 100 Steelers games in my life.   Mike's team that won the SB was Bill Cowher's team.

I want a SMART head coach that's also a leader of men.   I'm hoping Johnson, Coen or Glenn are great situation coaches and talent (assistant coach) evaluators.

To just be clear, I am not against Aaron Glenn, because given the injuries Glenn has still called a damn good defense. I am very aware of that.

Tomlin has been a great HC with a terrible franchise. Dude is always creating winning teams, all within one of the toughest divisions of the AFC. The clowns are trash, but Tomlin has to deal with Borrow and Jackson 4 times each season.

Imagine a guy like Tomlin coming to Duval with a QB like Trevor! He'd instill the toughness we need and he'd have a QB that he's never had before.

It's not going to happen, of course. Jags gonna Jag. But Tomlin with this franchise would get a Super Bowl victory within 2 seasons. I have no doubt.
