I don't blame the LAFD for what has happened. It falls on the shoulders of city and state leaders who have embraced this counter-progressivism which undermines competency. To wit: What the Assistant Chief says at the 1:50 mark.

With these multiple fires raging in California, and you can call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but I'm really starting to believe that they are some sort of back-handed terrorist attacks. Look at all the resources and manpower being diverted to handle them, even some manpower from other states. This could be a set up for something much bigger.

I don't know if that applies in this situation, but it's certainly a plausible theory for testing a society's ability to cope with severe adversity.

This is a misleading video.  It's not as if men aren't being hired for the FD.

And would you say that no woman should be hired by the FD and many men got that matter as they might not be able to carry some fat [BLEEP] out of a house?

If you are going to restrict the FD to men that are 6'5 and taller and weigh 230 pounds, then you're going to haver an even bigger problem.

Blaming the victim for their circumstance as an excuse for a physical shortcoming that is essential to the job of a firefighter is not the answer.

They did it with the covid virus, why not with fire in a state that is naturally a fire hazard? Between the weather and the well known progressive policies it would be easy for bad actors to take advantage.

Not an angle I thought about but these days not entirely implausible. Outside of the alphabet agencies who would have thought 9/11 could happen?

Man oh Man...... I've heard/read a whole lot of BS from Politicians in my day but this..........

Biden’s FEMA Chief: California Was ‘Very Prepared’ For The Fires
Criswell added that the agency would not force local communities to rebuild their power lines under ground.

FEMA Administrator Deanna Criswell claimed during an interview over the weekend that fire officials in Southern California “were very prepared” for the catastrophic fires that erupted last week — despite significant evidence to the contrary.

Criswell made the remarks when asked by Margaret Brennan on CBS News “why the area was so unprepared” for the fires.

“I think that they were very prepared,” Criswell claimed. “This is something that they are very used to. They fight fires all the time.”

We were lucky.  Had the attack been better planned, the damage would have been far worse.

There is a big difference between being prepared due to the experience you gain by fighting fires all the time and being prepared with all the resources you need to fight those fires.

Having experience and having resources are not one and the same.

Yup.  But at least we'd have Jack Ryan suddenly become Commander in Chief.

There's a lack of resources and also a lack of planning.  More firebreaks need to be constructed and maintained, for one.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

Perhaps they're afraid the New Yorkers would relocate to LA.   You know how it is when NY'ers invade a city.  They're like loud locusts that multiply and take over the town.
