I agree. A guy may be a great coordinator but end up a lousy head coach. And if he tries to do both, he may not be as good at the playcalling when having to spend so much time as head coach.

I'll be happy with Ben Johnson but have zero idea if he'll make a good head coach

It's nice to actually get to see these "prime" coaches play in big situations.  

Ben Johnson is a joke.  He's the Gus Bradley of OC's.  He got hot because of the talent and a HC that clearly controlls the team.

Ben Johnson is the worst pick we could make.  Dude is a terrible OC.  He beat up on tomato cans.  But he is trash against real teams.

The thing about the Lions that people forget is it's Campbell's mentality. He goes for it on 4th down more than anyone, and when it starts to not work... well... you unravel.

But I get it.  If you imagine and pretend that things are equal, then clearly Pederson is just as good as Kingsbury.

Sure you know. Kingsbury was [BLEEP] as a head coach. He gets good players in Washington and the same exact plays that didn't work in Arizona or Jax work just fine. It's a case study in Jimmy and Joe being preeminent in the NFL. So be off the Johnson train or whatever, its irrelevant until the players are actually good.

Naw, this game had nothing to do with Campbell's mentality.  The teams were pretty evenly stacked.  And, unless I'm completely wrong, I don't remember any 4th down plays that were gambles... Maybe you can point out some.

What I did watch as Washington offense that was playing well.  And then I also saw a Lion's offense that was completely out of sync.  The Lions never looked like a real offense that had a game plan on how to beat Washington.

Washington outplayed Detroit on all aspects of the game.  They were completely out classed.  Goff was supposed to be the better QB.  Ben Johnson was suppossed to be the better OC.  Aaron Glenn was supposed to be the better DC.  

And it was obvious from the get go that the Commanders were commanding the entire game.

It's a concern if you are thinking of hiring one of the Detroit coordinators...

AGREED, but this is also why you don't hand a guy like that the KEYS to the franchise. You do NOT give an unknown the KEYS, no matter what. It'll be Khan's worst decision, and there has been  A LOT of them.
