Rules don't apply to Gaza right now. Those people need to be relocated, call it ethnic cleansing if you want. Gaza needs to be rebuilt and repopulated with people from all over the area, similar to Dubai or Doha.
I don't agree with the US going in alone and dictating these things, but I think this is just an opening gambit. I'm hopeful that these brash statements will help build a coalition of countries that will provide the men and the money to do what needs to be done. In the right scenario Israel provides some of the money and cedes some of the West Bank and golan heights for the people in Gaza now to move away to. Some of them can come to the US also, just not the terrorist ones. But most of these people should end up in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria. Do not feel sympathy for the Gazans that started the war and participated in it! They behaved as they did because they hate Gaza. They did not see Gaza as their home. They saw Jerusalem as their home. If they saw Gaza as their homeland they would have protected their homeland better.

Most of your post is, frankly, rather dubious, but if the coalition of countries you speak of were a coalition of white nations, that would be good. We're talking about a giant resort after all. MAGA.

Obviously very few watched the entire interview, I suggest you do this as the title of this string is not accurate. The portion of the interview the reporters were talking about his went very differently. When asked about the Palestinians returning to Gaza he said he did not believe anyone could live there. There is no water or electricity and most buildings were rubble. Those that were not rubble were on the verge of collapsing. The entire area was full of mines, IED's, booby traps and tunnels everywhere.. Not a place fit for any human. It would take a good 2 years to clear the area Where/just how were they going to live in the meantime? Hamas returning is not an option as all this would just happen again. That was nuts.
He began floating ideas. First one was find some land in Egypt, Jordan or other "brethren" and build some nice houses for them. Not with US or Israeli funds, with the funds donated by their buddies. Why would they rather live in the hell hole Gaza had become instead of that. They deserved better. He did say the Palestinians could have made the area into quite a nice resort like place when they first got there. He did joke he could pull it off, but that was clearly a joke to any watching. He did not say the Israelis would move in either and he was asked that directly. All in all he was throwing out ideas not pushing for really anything. Go read or watch it before you get all worked up.

This post is straight up [BLEEP]. I watched the entire address and Q and a. Joke? He never joked in any part of this. He never said he was just throwing out ideas. He floated no ideas. He was very clear. It wants it developed into Trump community paid for by US tax dollars and US soldiers blood. Cut the [BLEEP]. Glad Trump has time to joke about hundreds of thousands of people in the Middle East. Just what they need. [BLEEP] idiot. "He was just joking" ![]() He is one of the greatest idea floaters of my or any other generation. Right Jag? Reminds of some of those college late night sitting around the bong dorm room conversations, without the power and authority behind it, natch. A magical thinker. How about this gem: "We stop testing, the virus goes away." Or this? "The 2020 election was stolen from me." He's got lots of ideas. But honestly Jag147, I agree with you, that his ideas are floaters. ![]()

You guys always say "TDS." Three magic letters that mean you no longer have to respond to or even consider opposing arguments.
Trump definitely wasn't joking about Gaza, guys. He might have been exaggerating, as a negotiation tactic, but he was serious. TDoss is exasperated, but not by Trump this time. He's exasperated by Jag149 claiming that Trump was joking.

But don't be a pigeon...look at the purpose of the interview. Trump was letting the all the Arab nations know that no matter what there is NO way Israel backed by the US will return Gaza to what it was before the Hamas attack. They can ask, beg whatever but it will not happen. There is no daylight between the US and Israel. Returning to the status quo will not happen. Hamas will not be allowed to govern Gaza. That is madness. He also let slip the US is not interested in funding the rebuilding of Gaza without a return on investment. He then began throwing out ideas one of which was the Arab nations building areas to house the Palestinians. Problem there history has shown us those guys do not want those guys in their countries either. You guys really think he is interested in the US owning an elite greasy spoon area in the middle east? That's what you took from that conversation? ROTFL !!

I agreed with your post up until you made the statement in bold. I think you need to use google maps and check out the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar. This is definitely what Trump envisions and to be honest, it would be an incredible plot of land to have, inclusive of establishing a US military base there as well. Maybe for the bolded above, but not just a resort area. That would provide a tactical return for the US involvement. Maybe something like the lease we have on that little area in Cuba. So all you Arab brothers, come up with something better and get off your wallets !!

I won't say I have never heard him attempt a joke, but its rare and even rarer that anyone even cracks a smile. I can't think of a man with less humor (almost no sense of humor) as Donald Trump. The man is incapable of joking. When I hear his fans say he was joking, I hear delusion and rationalization as they too can't believe what he said, so this is their way of dealing with it. What Trump said is beyond the pale of stupid. Even if he did not mean what he said, he should have been clear and when other people took it in a way he did not intend, he should have clarified. He did not. There should be no ambiguity coming for the POTUS unless the ambiguity is intended. Instead, he played right into the fears of the Palestinian community. There are people right now that are organizing radicals around this statement. Whether he was "joking" or not is completely moot. It was perhaps the single most irresponsible thing that a President is ever said. He is no joker, but he is a arrogant fool. I just re-watched the news conference, then him explaining himself in the oval office. He did not clarify, he doubled down. I think you may have watched his news conference, but you did not hear it. Or either your too much of a MAGA troll to want to understand it. Again "Mr Moderative Voter", the President stood on the podium with the Israeli PM and announced a policy shift, so yes MANY are worked up. That would include Egypt, Jordan, and most importantly Saudi Arabia. Trump said long term ownership, his words. Trump is the king of real estate development. I think he'd love turning the Gaza Strip into the next Dubai --- imagine him leaving his mark with something like that, plus a military base. It's not going to happen but the thought of that probably has him dreaming about it all night long. |
