On Friday, there were 162 cancellations of non-essential contracts with a ceiling value of ~$205M and savings of $90M.

This included @USDA cancelling a $10.3M unnecessary contract which, ironically, was for identifying unnecessary contracts.

issued 3,095 loans, including PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) and EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Loan), for $333M to borrowers over 115 years old who were still marked as alive in the Social Security database.

In one case, a 157 years old individual received $36k in loans

DOGE said it identified that the Small Business Administration (SBA) granted nearly 5,600 loans for $312 million to borrowers whose only listed owner was 11 years old or younger at the time of the loan. The good news on these loans is their parents are responsible for paying them back. Let's hope we can recover a lot of it if they are fraudulent. But then all of them are as a minor cannot enter into a legal agreement without the signature of an adult. That means the person making the loan has committed a white collar crime.

And thanks to the DOGE the USDA hired back the 6000 fired employees from Feb. They are reinstated with back pay and are hired back for a minimum of 45 days.

So, for 1 month the federal government (USDA) received no work from the fired employees but the Feds will have to pay them for the time they were fired.

How much do you believe it is costing to pay 6000 employees for a month? What DOGE did does not seem very efficient to me. Maybe DOGE should read up on employee rights, how to implement a RIF or properly fire an employee instead of blanket firings.
