Last year, Musk offered to help bring the two astronauts home sooner than planned, but he claims he was rejected by the Biden administration.
“They were left up there for political reasons, which is not good,” Musk said in an interview alongside President Donald Trump with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
In a separate interview last week with Joe Rogan, Musk said the Biden administration intentionally “pushed the return date past the inauguration date” in an effort to downplay Trump and his allies’ successes.
“There’s no way that they’re going to make anyone who’s supporting Trump look good,” Musk told Rogan.
In a Tuesday press conference, Williams and Wilmore were asked to confirm the credibility of Musk’s statements about the Biden administration. Wilmore said it “is absolutely factual,” while still choosing his words carefully so as not to pick sides.

Fine.  Stop taking Elon's speculations as truth.  How about that?

Read the bold. Those are the astronauts that are up there. It is not speculation. They verified it. You may not like it but what I said was true. It was confirmed. The way I look at it ... you read what I posted, did not like it then responded without taking the time to see if it was correct. A lot of point, shoot, aim. How about that bucko?

Trump allies mount campaign to get DOGE codified by Congress
The bill is being led by Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla.

A group of President Donald Trump's House GOP allies is leading a bill that would enshrine the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its efficiency efforts in federal law, giving it some protection from various legal challenges over the next year and a half.

"This creates a reporting structure that allows what DOGE is doing with the Cabinet to be relayed to Congress, which is our Article I authorities, which is really the idea of being good stewards of taxpayer funding," Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who is leading the bill, told Fox News Digital in an interview.

The legislation more generally codifies Trump's executive order directing Cabinet secretaries and heads of other executive offices to coordinate with DOGE on various government efficiency plans.

Contract update!

Over the last two days, agencies terminated 239 wasteful contracts with a total ceiling value of ~$1.7B and total savings of ~$400M, including an $8.5M consulting contract for “fiscal stewardship to improve management and program operations in order to drive innovation and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business services; rethink, realign and reskill the workforce; and enhance program delivery through a number of transformational initiatives”.

The article referenced is one by a paper in Seattle claiming Elon Musk stole money from a guy. using the SSI system. This had nothing to do with him as as they say it isaknown issue no one has taken the time to fix.

Department of Government Efficiency
@DOGE
This article is maliciously misleading. While the database error is unfortunate, this has zero connection to @DOGE
.

This type of error unfortunately has occurred regularly (~500 times each month) for years. In the same way that dead people are marked as living, the reverse also happens, with Mr. Johnson’s case being one example. As of last week, @DOGE
and @SocialSecurity
are now working together to increase the accuracy of the “Death Master File” and eliminate these errors, the first ever real attempt to do so.

With regards to service centers being understaffed, this is true. @SocialSecurity
has been on a hybrid work-from-home model, which is currently being transitioned to a full work-from-office model.

I made the assertion before that the Trump administration’s goal is to stress the courts. I’m sure they were well aware there would be pushback. Entrenched bureaucracy does not go away quietly.

Get used to it. He accuses anyone of lying that doesn't agree with him. He called me one even though Elon's statement was verified by the astronauts that were abandoned by Biden. Seems he know better than people that are actually there.

In a Tuesday press conference, Williams and Wilmore were asked to confirm the credibility of Musk’s statements about the Biden administration. Wilmore said it “is absolutely factual,” while still choosing his words carefully so as not to pick sides.

This week, @Interior
is dissolving the Federal Consulting Group (FCG), where one government department charges another to broker consulting contracts.

As an example, FCG brokered a $75M contract to design website customer satisfaction surveys, and then attempted to award $830M to conduct similar surveys. The latter contract was discovered by @Interior
and DOGE, and cancelled before signature.

Florida returned $878,112,000.

Here's the story on that.....

DeSantis says Florida returned $878M in taxpayer funds to federal government after meeting with Musk, DOGE

DeSantis said Florida had been trying to return federal funds to the federal government over the 'ideological strings attached by the Biden Administration'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, said Friday that the state was returning more than $878 million to the federal government that it had been attempting to give back for the past few years during the Biden administration.
DeSantis' office informed the U.S. Treasury Department that $878,112,000 would be returned to the federal government.
The governor said the move came after a meeting with billionaire Elon Musk and his team at the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

"For years, Florida has been trying to return federal funds to the federal government due to the ideological strings attached by the Biden Administration—but they couldn't even figure out how to accept it," DeSantis wrote Friday on X.
