I was at the game today. Boyd looked pretty bad considering the opponent. A few passes that were really poorly placed. And the 90+ yard TD to Watkins was just a short throw that Sammy made a few moves on.

Boyd had a great game today. Can't go wrong with either, really. I feel comfortable knowing we're definiely getting one of the 2.

Teddy, Mariota, Hundley, Mettenberger, and Bortles are legit 1st round talents. Boyd, Manziel, Logan and Carr are good 2nd day talents and one or two could go first round because QBs always rise. And then you have a ton of depth with Murray, McCarron, Fales, Smith, Matthews, Morris, Renner, Garaoppolo, Price etc.

 

I agree the top end of the class (AFTER TEDDY) is getting overrated, but there are a dozen legit draftable QBs that's very deep.

After seeing Matt Barkley and Ryan Nassib last to the 4th Round of the 2013 Draft,    it's a possibility that can't be ruled out.

 

Taking the two QB's in Rounds 1 and 4 respectively,   would make a great amount of sense for the Jaguars,   if they are the highest rated players at the times of the picks.    It's a formula Mike Shanahan used in 2012 with RGIII and Kirk Cousins,  with the Redskins.     Right now,    I doubt anyone associated with the Redskins has regrets about the Cousins selection In Round 4.    This despite the problems their Defense had in the first 3 games of this season.     Having a strong 1-2 punch at QB can easily be the difference in a team making the playoffs in a given season.

Let me quantify it by saying that I am convinced that myself, most draftniks, and most teams will have him graded in the 4-5th rounds. Will a team or two get duped by the 'all the does is win' fallacy and pick him on day 2? ...maybe but the vast majority would agree that would be a reach.

 

And if he is there in the 4th I would be just fine with taking him as a backup a la Barkley Nassib Cousins.

He already makes some pretty good decisions with the ball, and he moves very well in the pocket. He's not exactly a turnover machine. Yesterday's game was pretty rough, but a "pretty rough" game for Bortles just means he missed on a couple of lofty throws. He's not declaring, so he'll get another great year at UCF and then come out. I'm rooting for him hard.

Neither are as good as Johnny Manziel.  Boyd is not accurate enough and doesnt go through his reads, only locks on the first one.    Bridgewater again I am not sold on either.
