So soccer or futbol fans, is this better for the US that Germany won or would a tie have been better?

 

Combined with the red card and injuries to starters, I think this is better. Portugal next has to play the USA in the hottest stadium in the World Cup after having to run extra hard for over a half playing 10 v 11. Great chance to get 3 points next match which means a tie today could get us through instead of needing a win.

 

Plus, Germany likely will have clinched advancement before playing us which means they might try to kick it around and go for a tie. But here is all that insight and more presented in a much more entertaining fashion.

Spot on, plus Pepe has to sit out at least one game with the red card.  Being down all those players forced Ronaldo to play the whole game, and there have been rumors he's not in really good game shape. 

 

Not saying the US can get the win, but its a major boost.

The only thing better would have been the red card coming out early in our next game with Portugal. Playing a man up would have been nice. But I will take it as it lies now though.

Better Germany one. Best team in the group. A win against Ghana and a draw with Portugal will likely put us through to knockouts.
