Just as there's no need to rush him back from this injury, there's absolutely no reason to rush and put him on the IR. 

 

 

 

Yes, there is. To be on the safe side. Last year he rushed back from the first concussion only to quickly get a second one, when even at that time I was calling for him to be sent to IR, to be on the safe side. Concussions are progressive so, that would have been a wise move. 

 

This injury isn't bad, until if he comes back this season and re-aggrivates it/ makes it worse. 

 

Why take that chance in a season where you're already 0-6 and fighting for the #1 draft spot. It would be foolish on all counts. 

 

Send him to IR now, and get him fully healthy for Teddy next year. Thats when we'll really be able to use him.

Are you really this dense?  I have seen a number of players sustain concussions this year.  Players who are way bigger than Ace Sanders.  Brandon Meriweather is 4 inches taller and 20lbs heavier and he got one.  Eddie Lacy weighs 225 lbs and got one.  Concussions happen in football.  I thought someone with a high football IQ like yours would know that.

I hate how our Blackmon/Shorts/Sanders trio is never on the field. I like all three of these guys. Cecil was a little overrated after last year, but he's a damn solid WR, and Blackmon is a future star. Plus Ace has been coming along pretty good for us too, you can tell the guy works his tail off to get better each week, because I've seen progression in his catching and his route running from week to week

To be on the safe side...for a shoulder injury....that might keep him out for a week or two.  Utterly clueless, or pushing your schtick?  Which is it?

Two days after the Lions 3rd pre-season game,    Lions rookie DE Ziggy Ansah suffered a concussion.    It was in practice,   not even in a game.     Ansah has an ideal frame for a 4-3 DE and had no concussion history.    Sometimes even plenty of caution isn't enough to avoid a concussion in football.       The good news is Ansah recovered from the concussion and was back in practice 3 days before the regular season opener.

That doesn't sound like a severe concussion or even a concussion at all.  Usually for concussions there are baseline tests and the player is out a minimum of a week at least. You may be correct, I'm just saying that situation referenced is a lot different than most concussion instances that I have seen over the years. Could they have prematurely labeled Ansah's issue as a concussion?
