Is Gurley worth a 1st round pick?

Quote:Agreed. Trade back, get gurley, then pull a gene smith and draft like 10 lineman..

10 linemen.. Well, if 2 of the 10 (plus Gurley) become long term answers to the offense, consider it a successful draft..

Collins is good but to say he is better than Gurley is insane.

Collins has better quickness in the hole while Gurley is just big with straight line speed. That wont work in the NFL.

With Gurley you need to ignore his size... that is not going to give him an edge in the nfl. Apart from his size, his running skills are not that good.

He does not have the lateral quickness of a guy like ADP... which im sure UGA homers think he is as good as.

Poz is good and Gurley running skills are not. Ok Gene

I didnt say he wasnt good... just that he wont be a great pro. He could be a decent pro.

He certainly isnt worth all this hype. Alot of these bulldog fans think we should use our first round pick on him. No thanks.

no way should we use a 1st pick on a rb with all the holes on this team, I agree on that

What do you mean by "won't work"? There have been plenty of guys without elite ateral quickness that excelled in the NFL. Todd Gurley reminds me a lot of Larry Johnson and Larry Johnson did just fine in the NFL.

yeah, makes no sense at all.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Larry Johnson was a flash in the pan and played behind an incredible Oline that gained huge yardage with every running back they threw back there

Maybe Gurley is the next ADP... idk. Just giving my opinion that he lacks quickness. He is tall and has a long stride... lacks quickness. A great power back like Lynch moves very well side to side.

Drafting a RB in the 1st round is GM suicide. No thanks.

Larry Johnson isn't the only RB I could cite. The point is, RBs with Gurley's size and skillset have been successful, so stating it won't work is just showing some sort of weird bias against Gurley.

was shady mccoy taken in the last 5?
