Bortles Aggresiveness

Quote:

(BTW about your Gabbert comment -  he looked like a franchise QB against the Jets last preseason)

No he did not.

Gabbert was a dink and dunker his whole career. In preseason and reg season. The odd longer anomaly pass from him doesn't change that.

Quote:Fisch also gave him (before the play/ game) certain plays in that spot that he could choose from for the audible, should he call one)

Bortles is calling a play in that situation that is similar to the plays they been running all game and that the coaching staff already predetermined.

Its not as if this is Blake saying "Ok you go to the blue Honda 20 yards ahead and I'll hit you". Laughing
The Jaguars are 18th in the league in plays over 20 yards and 3rd in the league in plays over 40 yards.  And you know our rushing attack has nothing to do with that.  That's also a lot due to Henne, whom you despise so much.  So tell me, with Henne and Fisch being so dink and dunk as you profess, how is this possible?

LOL. Now you're just making stuff up.  Both the coaches and Bortles have said he shouldn't have called that play there. It was not predetermined.  It was one play from a set of audibles and it was the wrong thing to call.  You are just twisting this into some convoluted fairy tale now.

Yes, I am saying it was from a set of audibles. That said the play would be similar to all the other short [BLEEP] that is in the Fisch book that game.

I wonder who was the Offensive Coordinator calling those plays from the start of the season?  Was he utilizing both Bortles' and Henne's strengths to get those stats?

If you wish to believe that Gabbert looked like a pro bowl QB that game then go right ahead.

Before that?  Bortles played mop up duty against the colts and started 1 half.  THATS IT!

I said franchise QB. Not pro bowl.  He looked great in that game.  I was there. Thirty rows up on the 40 yd line.

He was not "the Gabbert we know."

With Henne they mostly occured out of shock and utter disbelief of the opposing defenses that they actually were calling deeper passes. They also occurred mainly in play action with Henne.

Are you really trying to suggest that Henne and his 6 YPA isn't the result of largely dinks and dunk passes?

Okay, sorry...."franchise QB".

We're still in disagreement. Gabbert never looked the part. One half is 2 lousy Q of football. Any blind squirrel can find a nut in that small a sample size.

Bortles looked and played the part of a over 9 YPA QB for the entire preseason, EVERY appearance, as well as every appearance leading up to the Charger half.

You are aware that YPA include incompletions and check downs right?

From what the above poster said, this is the current stat since the start of REGULAR SEASON.  Can you explain how the Jaguars have achieved that stat thus far since it's all just "dinks and dunks"?
