I watched the post game speech that sparked this thread... I thought it was awesome. It's a young team, and they really needed that win to gain some confidence and swagger back. It's better than Mularkey, who pump fakes clipboards, or jack del rio, who threw players under the bus. He has a shoddy record, but atleast the team has improved significantly since week 1,2, and 3.

As I pointed out in your other thread on this topic, I don't get this criticism here.

 

Both O'Brien in this press conference and Bradley in other post loss press conferences identified the issues that cost them the particular game.

 

What is Bradley supposed to do? Have a Denny Green/Jim Mora/Mike Ditka type meltdown?

 

Or Mike Singletary.  Those cute little outbursts worked out very well for him, too.

We finally win, proving that the team is getting better under this coaching staff.  Which completely invalidates those who claim the sky is falling with said coaching staff.  So they latch on to something as meaningless as the coach celebrating their first win (a much needed win) with his players as an argument for why Brady is a terrible Coach.

Yea how about you look at the stats since Bortles took over.  That point diff. is drastically reduced.  The point is, the coaching staff has made SEVERAL changes to improve the team and it finally paid off with a win.  Stop holding onto those Henne games.

Cool. Admittedly, I was one of the "hand wringers" who was concerned about the seemingly lack of activity regarding a contract extension for Jack.


I think Jack is a very good head coach, despite the occasional disagreement I may have with the way he does things (i.e. sitting starters whole game in week 17).


I am very happy to hear this news today.


According to someone in this thread, it was a 5 year extension?---now, is that from this point forward, or is it 5 years added onto the year he has left on the old contract? (2008)


Also any financial terms disclosed? I'd imagine the deal probably pays Jack around 4-5 MIL per season.

I'm not sure what you're getting at but I'd say the Jags have regressed or are stagnant. They started the season like gangbusters and have been subpar ever since. There have been a few bright spots but plenty of bad to counter the positives.

What team are you even watching? We are the guys in teal.

That I wanted the extension at that point is irrelevant. When I said the above quote Jack's arrow was still pointing up. Well, it all came crashing down in quick order. 

 

You sit there all proud as if that means anything. 

 

The fact is by the end of the 2008 season Jack needed to go. I was correct in that assessment. You and others defended Jack until he was eventually fired. There was no reason to per his performance by late 2008.
