Why Is Karlos Williams Domestic Violence Issue Just Now Getting Publicity ?

(This post was last modified: 10-29-2014, 01:05 PM by TravC59.)

Quote:Like I said, I wouldn't expect any of you to believe me. That's fine. You ask any FSU fan who has followed FSU football for a long time and they will tell you the same thing. FSU players have been arrested in the past for the most trivial things.

Willie Meggs took Travis Johnson to trial ten years ago or so over an alleged sexual assault. His accuser claimed he assaulted her. The funny is fourteen days prior to this incident, Johnson had just had reconstructive shoulder surgery. Meggs still took him to trial, and he was acquitted by a jury of all women.

So the notion of protecting football players some of you dolts continue to hound is laughable.

Flame away.
And why would we expect you to believe the article with facts in it ?

We aren't talking 10 years ago. This has more to do with more recent years. When Jimbo took over. Coincidence, maybe. But 10 years ago has no bearing on this.

I guess if the NYT said it, it has to be true. Every article they've written on FSU in the last year had been filled with the whole truth and nothing has been left out.

If thats the logic we're going to use, then why would I believe the one you posted yesterday?  If its something we don't like we can just say thats its only half truths now?  Come on man, don't lose common sense here.

I don't know about you, but I'd take the word of someone who actually did their homework and READ the SAO report over the NYT and their blatant omitting of facts.

That's just me though.

There has been quite a bit of commentary on both sides....the article that you linked that was the "truth" could be looked at as Florida State's side as well, considering the writer and his father went to Florida State games together when he grew up.

After what you've seen go down over the past 6 months in that program.....if you arent convinced there is some sort of issues going on from within, you have your blinders on.

Google Deadspin Jimbo Fisher - article just came out.

The media wont leave FSU alone.  It's just not fair.

There "is some sort of issues going on from within" every football program.

From my experience, there "is some sort of issues going on from within" every college marching band. You get a 100 or more college age kids together and something is going on.

Is anyone here saying that FSU isn't receiving extra attention and scrutiny for issues that are happening in other locations as well?

Who the hell is Drew Magary and why should we care what he thinks?

But seriously, I saw that Fisher video yesterday. It would be nice to know what the question was he was asked that made him respond that way.

Being that they want FSU to lose because of the way the administration has handled the off the field stuff, im pretty sure they are leaning one way on this.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Yep. some forget how he was with McPherson, and the pathetic way he handled the Dockett and Warrick situations.

Dont know if you talking about the video that's on deadspin. But Jimbo said something about not being asked those questions prior to doing the live interview.

Yeah, I was referring to the one where he talks about the SEC bias.

Maybe a cry for help.  Who knows.  But if you ever study up on domestic abuse, its not uncommon at all for a woman to not press charges.  And many times they'll convince themselves they are the one to blame.  Or others will blame her and she'll be hesitant to come forward.  Its sad but it's a reality.

And in this case, there is picture evidence.  Bruises all up and down her arm.  Those didnt appear by accident.

Some police agencies will investigate it even without the victims cooperation because it is so common that the victim will recant after the fact.

Yea I heard that the local police may still decide to investigate this.  But sounds like it'll be hard because if it happened in the privacy of their house/apt and there are no witnesses, I'm not sure what they could.  Maybe the neighbors would have heard?  And based on her facebook message it sounds like this has happened a number of times before so maybe there would be evidence if they dig deep enough.

That deadspin rant was... wow. They nailed fsu to the wall. This is why UF reacted the way they did with Treon.

Haha, if this was a piece saying how strong Jimbo's morale character was you'd be all over this article.....you're really pushing legendary status here.
