Jags prepared to make an offer to Suh?

But won't that injury keep Marks out till next October?
IN the short term you are right.  Marks will probably be effected next year with the injury.  I'm talking about long term.

The only thing I worry about Suh is his leaving a contender for a bottom feeder and collecting a fat paycheck while vacationing ala Hugh Douglas.

So you're not on the bandwagon of this team not being good anytime soon eh?

I seriously don't see Suh as being someone that would do that. A turd in the locker room maybe, but that dude does everything (and then some obviously) on the field on Sundays.

Too bad he never turned into a world beater like Watt though.

I don't understand this. Why wouldn't you want elite passion driven guy on this team?

VY is already a top 5 QB in this league. He just wins games. And no need for Fred Taylor or MJD we have Chris Henry... he will be better then both of them after this year. Just like Vince Young was last year. BOOK IT.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

In Caldwell's end of year conference that he mentioned interior D-line as something they would target in FA. That stuck out to me because it's not generally considered a big priority. Could be something to this.

Hopefully we don't shell out all this money for him and hit the value bin everywhere else

They don't even know if he'll hit free agency, much less if they'll be able to sign him. I don't know if they want to tie that much money in that position but they should be going after elite talent and he's elite.

I say lets try to go after him, lets sign him to a heavy back end deal where we can get rid of him without to many problems if he ends up beings Haynesworth. That being said, Gus will find a way to use Miller, Marks, and Suh at the same time. New scheme perhaps? 5 on the D line, LEO/Marks/Miller/SUH/LEONARD WILLIAMS? that looks crazy. But anyway idk how they do it, Suh is great player minus the on field issues.

A 5-2-4 defense with only one true end? I'll pass.

Suh's not going to end up being worth the contract he gets.

5 on the line and 5 of those i mentioned would be killer. More sacks and more pressures. And on run d it seems like no one would be able to run it through the middle. 5 d line men. 2 linebackers. 4 DB with cyprien playing in the box being LB number 3 with a single high safety and 2 corners in Colvin and Mccray,i think it would be killer. Something the NFL isn't familiar with. But i think it all lies on us having a game changing ball hawking FS. Also with a great defense and maybe a offense where we can score some points, we don't have to score much we would win all day and night. Thats a play off team, like the Ravens. Great defense with a decent offense.

I wouldn't be at all opposed to signing Suh and drafting Leonard Williams. I'm a firm believer that big guys don't come back the same from knee injuries; look no further than Geno Atkins. We can't count on Marks at this point unfortunately. I'm also a big believer in having a dominant offensive and defensive line however, and it's about time we solidified at least one of those units for a long time. Signing Suh and drafting Williams would be a helluva start to doing just that.

I also would be happy if they signed Bulaga and drafted a few Olineman in the top rounds. This team has enough skill players to get by next season, but our offensive and defensive lines are not where they need to be right now, for various reasons.

Does anyone else remember that cartoon (or whatever it was) making fun of Gene Smith about wanting to draft only defensive tackles or something like that. That's what this is reminding me of.

I understand you can get creative and adapt to personal, but both Suh and Williams? Though they are both pretty positionally flexable, I still have a hard time seeing that one.

Call it what it is... hes a great but dirty player.

Caldwell already said hes okay with players with 'issues' if they show remorse for whatever. I dont think Suh has ever shown real remorse for his dirty play but then again its football.

I'd take him. But we have too many other needs and his contract would limit our spending on getting help for Bortles.

Pass.

No one is safe.

williams and suh?  My lord.  I admit I miss the days of the Stroud/Henderson combo.  Having an unstoppable interior D would be pretty cool.
