Maybe he can make the Michigan offense more like the Miami offense he masterminded...../sarcasm One of these years.............

The man everyone wanted to replace Bradley before he took the Michigan job and a guy who was a successful head coach in the NFL. I have no issue with Bradley firing Fisch but to act like the man is a just a complete and utter [BAD WORD REMOVED] coach is pretty absurd. Oh wait, I forgot I'm on the same messageboard that thought Koetter was a bag of crap OC when he was here as well.
“It just shows what kind of team we are. We’re a tough team. We like contact. We’re very physical. We want the issue to be brought to us so we can show people we can stand up to it and overcome it. Seeing that’s just a symbol of our team and who we are.” - Jaguars DT Malik Jackson

To me, he seemed stubborn about what he wanted to do. Not to mention that the offense regressed during the last half of the season. One of these years.............
After doing a little searching Tom Clements has become a guy that I am very intreguied by.
Tom Clements: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/270330281.html http://www.packers.com/team/coaches/tom-...f437249c9f http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Clements Has an impressive and intriguing resume.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:That'd be a lateral move. Not if you give him an "Assistant Head Coach" title.

Quote:That'd be a lateral move.Dirk Koetter wasn't fired when he went to the Bucs. Yeah his HC got fired but he was still technically under contract. Would Assistant head coach change things?
Scott Linehan is also a distinct possibility. currently with the cowboys, he isnt even serving as OC right now. he has been very productive pretty much everywhere he has been an OC in the past 10 years. as HC with the rams things werent great but he did reach the playoffs once.
either way, we would want him as an OC and in that capacity he is very effective, familiar with ZBS, has a downfield passing attack mentality. if trestman is off the table, linehan is my top guy.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Linehan had some highly ranked passing offenses in DET. He's certainly worthy of consideration. Has been granted permission to interview in OAK, BTW.

Linehan has had a great impact on the Cowboys offense where they're ranked in the top 10 for both the passing and rushing games. He actually was the one doing the play calling this past weekend against his former team. He would be a great option for this team based on his resume IF he doesn't wind up getting a head coaching spot somewhere. Never argue with idiots. People have to realize that the coordinator isn't being chosen just for bortles. He's not the only guy worth developing but he's considered the most important. The coordinator is a play caller so what it seems they're looking for is a play caller that puts bortles in the best position to succeed which wasn't the case before due to many factors. The QB coach will be the one to develop bortles not necessarily the coordinator. They're looking for a guy with the right plan......but regardless as many have indicated already, 75% would be confused, upset and hate the pick, the others will justify......until further notice
Right now my wish list is trestman, linehan, Randy fichtner, Edgar Bennett
In that order.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Looks like Trestman will be going to Atlanta if Rex Ryan is hired as head coach according to Adam Schefter. It was on nfl countdown.
At this point it is pretty much a given that our OC is a member of the Ravens /Colts/ Panthers/ Cowboys.
If he weren't on a playoff team. The interview would have occured by now, and if he had a bye week the interview would have occured by now. Rick Dennison seems like the most likely target to me. <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/coaches/Rick-Dennison/731e7d1e-7e3c-4d4f-8d5d-32de9737cba9'>http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/coaches/Rick-Dennison/731e7d1e-7e3c-4d4f-8d5d-32de9737cba9</a> Juan Castillo <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/coaches/Juan-Castillo/71348012-38bb-4777-a474-61921f736f8d'>http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/coaches/Juan-Castillo/71348012-38bb-4777-a474-61921f736f8d</a> Clyde Christenson <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.colts.com/team/coaches/Clyde-Christensen/805ccace-123e-405d-849e-e257521cd289'>http://www.colts.com/team/coaches/Clyde-Christensen/805ccace-123e-405d-849e-e257521cd289</a> Charlie Williams <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.colts.com/team/coaches/Charlie-Williams/520c0520-0b71-4c0c-abdb-ba69443f4cf0'>http://www.colts.com/team/coaches/Charlie-Williams/520c0520-0b71-4c0c-abdb-ba69443f4cf0</a> Pete Hoener <a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.panthers.com/team/coaches/pete-hoener/c043b4c6-77ee-4795-bc23-0893c900af1b'>http://www.panthers.com/team/coaches/pete-hoener/c043b4c6-77ee-4795-bc23-0893c900af1b</a> Scott linehan (pretty impressive if it isnt considered a lateral move) <a class="bbc_url" href='http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Linehan'>http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Linehan</a> Not sure if any of these are the targets, but I would be surprised if the hire doesn't come from one of these teams. You know what I just thought of...
So there are, what, 5 head coach openings? Maybe the Jags are waiting to see if Trestman and Roman get HC offers first and then going from there. I think Roman has a good chance of landing a HC opportunity. So it would make sense for the Jags to sit back and see where some of the head coach positions get filled, then start targeting the coaches that are standing without a chair when the HC carousel music stops. To me, I just don't see us going for an unproven commodity... But I'm sure all the top tier OCs are salivating over the HC opportunities, and that would be thier focus first... I guess we just have to stay patient, which stinks for us. |
