Albert Breer just confirmed former Arizona Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles is now the head coach of the New York Jets. Also, earlier today the found their new GM in Mike Maccagnan, Former Texans Personnel.

Trying to look at this from a Falcons point of view, even assuming that they wait until after Sunday's game to potentially have the opportunity to interview Dan Quinn again, how can they be confident enough that Quinn would accept a contract offer? Especially, if the Broncos make Quinn their # 1 target. And this is assuming that the Seahawks, a 7 1/2 favorite, will lose on Sunday. As much as I want to see Teryl Austin remain with the Lions at least one more season, if I was in the Falcons position, I would offer Austin the HC job today or tomorrow. Being that 3 other teams still looking for a HC have either interviewed Austin or requested permission from the Lions to interview him, the Falcons would be taking at least some risk they could lose Austin if they hestitate. |
