2015 Free Agents - Who Do You Want?
|
Wouldn't mind seeing Wisniewski. He has good pedigree. Move Bowanko to a depth position.

Another Center prospect is J. D. Walton of the Giants.
Walton was originally a 3rd Rd pick for the Broncos in 2010 and started 16 games for the Broncos in 2010 and 2011. He broke his ankle in 2012 and had additional surgery in 2013 and missed all of the 2013. The Broncos waived him in 2014. The Giants signed Walton to a 2 Year contract in 2014, but are expected to release Walton in favor of their 2014 2nd Rd Draft Pick. Walton started all 16 games for the Giants in 2014, so his health does not appear to be an issue. Most likely he will sign for the Veteran Minimum and thus could be brought in as a cheap insurance policy for Bowanko and provide some competition.
Dream offseason :
CJ Spiller, RB Randall Cobb, WR Charles Clay, TE Bryan Bulaga, RT Jason Pierre Paul, DE Devin McCourty, S Realistic offseason : CJ Spiller, RB Charles Clay, TE Jermey Parnell, RT Jerry Hughes, DE Jacquian Williams, LB Brandon Flowers, CB Da’Norris Searcy, S
Quote:I'd like to see 2 O-linemen signed for competition/depth and a FS. Even if they draft these positions as well - a vet presence is needed - as is depth. An "extra" FS could also compete for the nickel spot presumably.great post man! I feel the same trust in Caldwell as you! There is still much uncertainty though. a lot of " things" need to happen before the start of next season for us to win a respectable amount of games... but when I consider how things have looked over the last 2 years... I feel confident in next year being a LOT more fun than this past year was..and I DO feel the right 3 guys are running things at the top. gus Dave shad We show less advertisements to registered users. Orakpo ripped his pec muscle (in his chest) for the third time in his career and was placed on IR early in the 2014 season.

While no one can know for sure, ESPN Cleveland Insider, Tony Grossi, expects the Browns to let Jordan Cameron - TE to walk in Free Agency.
Jordan Cameron will be a hot commodity on the Free Agent market and if he can be cleared of his concussion issues, he may very well be a target which the Jaguars pursue in Free Agency.
Let me make a case for
Rob Houlser - TE - Cardinals 6'5" 250 Lbs - 27 Yrs old in 2015 Former 3rd Rd Pick of Cardinals in 2011 Combine 40: 4.55 His 4 year resume: 2011 - 12 catches 2012 - 45 catches 2013 - 39 catches 2014 - 9 catches When Bruce Arians took over for the Cards, the Cards preference for TEs changed Houlser is a stretch the field type receiving TE and Arians prefers the Marcedes Lewis type of TE. Housler has the speed to stretch the seam with 4.55 speed Housler will probably be a lot less expensive than Clay or Cameron and certainly less than Thomas. Houlser went to school at Florida Atlantic so a return to Florida might be looked at favorably All in all, Houlser has the skillset the Jags seek and he could just be an undiscovered asset like Marks has become. Your Thoughts?
Might be nice to take flyer on Housler, but there are more attractive options out there. The team almost has to spend money this offseason, so might as well get you a shiny new toy.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Been asking for critical analysis on my post above. Someone please step up and break down my previous post lol.
But honestly......... Im just trying to figure out what you all think. Quote:Free Agency: I think your first 2 free agents are unlikely to BOTH be available. But they are both great options. McCourty would be my number one target if he becomes available, but that might be unlikely. Maybe the Pats will recieve cap sanctions as a result of their most recent indiscretion. If we land your first 3 choices in the draft then it will be a good one in my opinion, but I'm not very familiar with your later round picks. Anyway... If the Jags pulled this offseason off it would be amazing, probably not a very realistic expectation though.
It has been mentioned several times since the off-season began that the Jags want to upgrade their LB Corp.
Accordingly, my mock drafts have focused upon drafting a LB in Rd 2, one of three players 1. Paul Dawson - TCU 2. Erik Kendricks - UCLA 3. Denzel Perryman - Miami Since the Draft and Free Agency are supposed to compliment each other and because no one really knows who may fall to Pick 36, it seemed to me to take another look at Free Agency and see if LBs could be identified. Early on I identified Akeem Ayers - OTTO LB - Patriots (4 sacks in 9 games with Patriots) Ayers is a pass rusher who can drop back in coverage - sort of a poor man's Jason Worilds of the Steelers. Today, I offer for your consideration Bruce Carter - SLB - Cowboys - 6'2" 240 Lbs - 27 Years Old Former 2nd Rd Pick in 2011 2011 40 Time: 4.47 Stats: 2014 - 68 TT , 8 PassDef, 5 Ints 2013 - 96 TT 2012 - 70 TT Bruce Carter is more of a Coverage LB rather than a Pass Rusher. He had experience playing MLB and thus could move from Otto on 1st and 2nd downs to MLB on 3rd down passing downs With Carter's speed, he is the perfect compliment to Tevin Smith where these two would be in the coverage package Accordingly, I am advocating the signing of BOTH Akeem Ayers of the Patriots and Bruce Carter of the Cowboys I think that Geno Hayes did a decent job, but he is better suited for the WLB spot to back up Tevin Smith So I am advocating the re-signing of Geno Hayes I also advocate re-signing J.T. Thomas I am not in any way advocating the release of Poz with this signing, only that on 1st and 2nd downs Carter - Poz and Smith On 3rd Downs Ayers - Carter - Smith LB Corp: Otto: Carter, Ayers, MLB: Poz, Thomas WLB: Smith, Hayes I like Martrell Spaight in Rd 5 as depth - can play all three positions. Lastly, Carter is not deemed a Top 50 Free Agent, so I think he can be had for 3 to 4 Mil / Yr as a Ceiling Figure This frees up the Rd 2 selection to allow the team to take the BAP. Your Thoughts?
Teal Curtain
Here are my comments I would love to sign Brian Bulaga AND Randall Cobb but I don't see BOTH being available. Of these two, I would prefer that Bulaga was signed. LOVE the Mark Ingram signing, I too advocate his signing as the 3rd leg of the RB By Committee LOVE the Akeem Ayers signing - see my post above. I think there is less chance of signing McCourty than there is in signing Cobb NOT a Fan of Rahim Moore signing To me the best FA FS that I believe will be available will be Kendrick Lewis of the Texans, still I think I would rather draft a FS in Rd 3 - between Anthony Harris or Chris Hackett Our Free Safety has to cover the entire field from sideline to sideline and Moore can't do that and I am not so certain that Lewis can either. LOVE the Leonard Williams pick Not sure that Maxx Williams will make it out of Rd 1 but if he did, then it might be a nice pick Your CB from Oregon is coming off an ACL, so I am not in agreement to draft a player that will need to sit out half a year in recovery I like a Free Safety or an ORT in Rd 3. Not as big a fan of the Tyler Lockett pick, - slot WR who is very slight - The Jags will be picking near the Top of Day 3 and there is bound to be some really good players that fall to the Jags at that point. I am considering Ladarius Gunter of Miami in Rd 4, - fits the Seattle BIG CB mold and he showed well at the Sr Bowl with tight coverage. Don't know anything about your OG from Alabama in Rd 5 I am thinking that Tony Washington would fall in Rd 5 rather than fall to Rd 6. I like B.J. Finney - Center - Kansas State in Rd 5 I also like Martell Spaight - OLB - Arkansas at that point Robert Myers - OG - Tenn State could be available so too Jarvis Harrison - OLG - Texas A&M could be available at the top of Rd 5 Josh Shaw is an interesting CB (Not a Safety at all), but I think he is taken in Rds 5 or 6 So you are taking TWO CBs in your draft class? Do you see CB as that big a need for this roster? I like two SS at this point - Erick Dragan - Oregon and Sam Carter - TCU You wanted comments and so here they are. Quote:Teal Curtain Thanks for your response. Wishful thinking with Maxx Williams falling to second round. However, it would not surprise me. The CB out of Oregon might fall a little bit. But overall I think he had 2nd round talent before the injury. Could be another Colvin pick. I am a HUGE fan of Kevin Lockett. I feel like he has a little "Steve Smith" in terms of attitude. Dude has a chip on his shoulder and is a dynamic PR as well as quality WR. Dude tore up the Senior Bowl. Need to do more research on my OG pick, not gonna lie. But he is from a BIG TIME school and Samoan lol. We need OL depth anyway. Washington is a pick that may go a little before I slotted him. More of a Special teams pick with potential for more. The reason I put Shaw as part Safety is because I don't really like his cover skills. He is also built pretty solid. I think could be a nice special teamer as well
