2015 Free Agents - Who Do You Want?
|
Hey, if Gus can get most of the Coaches he wants, why not the Free Agents he wants too?

A replacement for Henne. Lets grab Hoyer. Or better yet who is Tampa Bays old starting QB?
If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts

I don't really think there's any chance this happens but...
1. C Stefan Wisniewski 2. RT Bryan Bulaga 3. OG Mike Iupati After that they can upgrade TE, FS, and whatever else they'd like but they have to fix this line. IMO, if that gets fixed most of our offensive troubles are taken care of. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Michael Wagaman of ESPN writes that it appears as though the Oakland Raiders are willing to allow Center Stefen Wisniewski to test the free agent market in the coming weeks.
According to Michael Wagaman, Stefen Wieniewski appears to be targeting a contract in the neighborhood of $3 Million or more per year. Stefen Wieniewski, Center out of Penn State, was taken by the Oakland Raiders in the 2nd Round of the 2011 College Draft. He has started at Center for the Raiders in 61 out of 64 games.
Quote:Michael Wagaman of ESPN writes that it appears as though the Oakland Raiders are willing to allow Center Stefen Wisniewski to test the free agent market in the coming weeks. Stigma, He has been pretty good. And 3 mil/yr is not bad at all. If he will follow Olsen, give him a 5yr 16 mil contract.. Have him through his prime years and settle the position once and for all for Bortles. A signing like this would be very solid.
I favor signing Stefen Wisniewski - Center - Oakland Raiders
in fact I favor perhaps overpaying him just to get him here. Ultimately the Jags need to draft well, but Free Agency has given the Jags a chance to have a couple of Pro-Bowl type players on the roster. Is Wisniewski a Pro Bowl player? No, but he is a solid NFL starter and he could develop into more.
If Dwayne Bowe - WR - KC Chiefs gets cut would he be a veteran WR that the Jags might have interest in signing?
He is 30 years old with 8 years experience in the league. He may be looking to get away from Alex Smith as his QB. He is kind of like a small TE or a Big WR. In my opinion he is a better option that Michael Crabtree. I would envision him operating out of the slot. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Recent reporting suggests that the Patriots will place the Franchise Tag on Devin McCourty.
The No. 2 potential Free Agent FS - Rahim Moore is reportly not in the Broncos 2015 plans, per PredominantlyOrange.com Rahim Moore, the former Rd 2 selection of the Broncos out of UCLA, is best known for his 2012 playoff gaffe against the Ravens. Still he remains an option for the Jags. It has been suggested by PredominantlyOrange.com that either the Bears (John Fox) or the Raiders (JDR) will have interest in signing Moore. He may not be the sexy pick, but Rahim Moore would be a solid upgrade for the Jags deep secondary. Quote:Mike Glennon, Josh McCown or (shudder) Josh Freeman. None of those three names would inspire me to cut Henne. freeman would be a good additon as a backup, if he is motivated. olson did good things with him already. if we can get the production olson got out of him as a starter, from a backup, itd be a nice move.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:Recent reporting suggests that the Patriots will place the Franchise Tag on Devin McCourty. I'm a big fan. I don't care about his playoff blunder. I think he's learned from that. This season he picked off 4 passes in the regular season as well as 1 in the playoffs. His tackling is for sure suspect, but he does have great hands. He plays mainly single high safety ( which is what we are looking for, so Cyp can play in the box). Side note: Moore has a good track record of picking off Andrew Luck passes. Looks like Baltimore is asking Holoti Ngata to take a pay cut otherwise they may release him.

"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
Oh is Ausberry a UFA? If so he would probably jump to my #5 TE wish.
1. Jordan Cameron (cheaper, with more athleticism and better hands than Julius) 2. Julius Thomas 3. Niles Paul 3b. Charles Clay 5. David Ausberry
Everybody within JagNation is salivating at the chance to sign Brian Bulaga - ORT - Green Bay Packers.
Yet, what many seem to forget that it is quite rare for any team to allow a quality Free Agent to walk away from the team. Currently the Packers have 23.722 Mil in Cap space and they have two major Free Agents to sign, Bulaga and Cobb. The Packers could also free up 8.5 Mil by cutting Julius Peppers and another 3.5 Mil by cutting A.J. Hawk. So let's see what it will cost the Packers to re-sign Bulaga. In 2014, Eugene Monroe of the Ravens received a 5 Year Contract for 37.5 Mil Jared Veldheer - was signed away from the Raiders by the Cardinals for a 5 Year contract worth 35 Mil. So the going rate most likely for Bulaga to re-sign with the Packers is around 7 to 7.5 Mil per year. Should the Jags want to sign Bulaga, the cost will most likely be in line with what Branden Albert formerly of the Chiefs signed with the Dolphins with 5 Year contract worth 47 Mil, averaging 9.4 Mil per season. The Chiefs were never going to match this having already drafted Albert's replacement in Eric Fisher. The Packers have two Olineman who recently got paid. Josh Sitton - OLG - avg salary of 6.75 Mil T.J. Lang - ORG - 5.2 Mil salary So it appears that not only do the Packers have the money to re-sign Bulaga to a deal, but the deal they most likely would sign him to is not really out of line with the market. Bulaga has stated he wants to continue to play for the Packers, so it seems to me highly unlikely that anyone other than the Packers will sign Brian Bulaga, which is really par for the course in a typical Free Agent year. Quote:If Dwayne Bowe - WR - KC Chiefs gets cut would he be a veteran WR that the Jags might have interest in signing?I doubt it. Bowe is not fast and has already maxed out his potential. He's going to want a bigger, longer deal than I'd envision Caldwell offering. Quote:I think it's a safe bet to say Malcolm Smith will be a Jaguar next year.I wouldn't. Malcom Smith plays the same position as Telvin Smith--a guy who looks like a building block for the defense--and is too small to play Otto. Someone else will offer him a starting job, whereas the Jags would have nothing but a backup slot for him. Quote:Recent reporting suggests that the Patriots will place the Franchise Tag on Devin McCourty.Speaking as someone who got stuck watching the Broncos almost every week based upon where I live, trust me on this statement: Rahim Moore is the Zane Beadles of the Broncos' secondary. He looks good on tape because of who's around him, not because he's a particularly good player himself. Someone is going to throw him a ton of money, he's going to take it, and that GM is going to look like an idiot for the next four years as Moore gets picked on game after game. The Kansas City Star expects Center Rodney Hudson of the Chiefs to seek $7 Million per season on the open market.
I am wondering if Stefen Wisniewski of the Raiders is seeking something similar and if so it is the reason why the Raiders are allowing him to test the Free Agent market.
A veteran center (Stefan Wisniewski) familiar with Olsen's offense and protections is essential for a young QB. I hope he is a high priority.
"I'm not mad, I'm proud of you. You took your first pinch like a man and you learn two great things in your life. Look at me, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut." - Jimmy Conway
I wonder how much money Greg Hardy will command in FA. I know he was suspended last year but that guy's an elite pass rusher. If the Jags could get him even slightly discounted because of his legal problems, that would be a good pickup if, of course, he doesn't get in trouble. A big if but the Jags are at the point in their history where they have to take some chances on people.
