BAP for a team that already has 3 rookie WR(2nd yr next season) is to add yet another rookie WR? If I guy like Cooper was available in the 2nd round, take him, but at #3 he is a terrible pick for us.

 

Unfortunately I'm not ready to proclaim Marquise Lee as anything more than an average starter in this league. I'm willing to add Cooper to the mix if he's BAP.

Cooper @ 6'1 and good sized hands. Lots ot talk about him being under 6 feet well, squash that. If he runs well, yeah he should be BAP for us if Williams is off the board before we pick.

 

Stefon Diggs....love the weigh in. Big hands, looks the part. I think he's someone to take a hard look at to replace Ace.

 

Still on the fence with Funchess. Got some small hands, but if he times out well, he's going to be excellent out of the slot. I don't think he's a good TE with his size/utilizing his talents best.

 

Deandre Smelther with some giant hands. I can't imagine him having a bad career in the NFL. Looks like a 2nd rounder to me.

I'm so stoked people are talking about him. Im a Terp and watched him play every game. He has had some dreadful QBs (including a linebacker one year when we had a ton of QB injuries). If he had played for an elite program (Ohio State) people would be talking a lot more about him. He would be an excellent return guy and is actually a really good receiver too. Worked with Keenan so I'm sure he was well coached.

Larry Fitzgerald was closer to 4.8 than 4.4. He ran a 4.63.


This is the same thing we heard about Blackmon, but, suspensions aside, he showed he can play at a high level.

Considering 5 of the top ten yardage leaders this season are under 6 feet- I think the argument of taking only gigantic freak athletes early is pretty much over.

Such is the nature of BAP. Its a weak draft class at the top, so I'd be more comfortable with hitting a double or triple with Cooper than praying one of the DE prospects is going to knock it out of the park...

10 inch hands

Was hoping he'd be a little taller (listed at 6 foot) but his arm length and hands are extremely good for his size.  Gonna be very interested to see what he runs in the 40.  I'm concerned it's not gonna be all that fast, but he'll be very impressive in all the drills and will catch everything near him.

I knew these were going to be impressive numbers.  He's a freak physically.  Second longest arms of any receiver at the combine and second biggest hands.  If he's fully healthy he's going to really impress because he's been measured with a vertical of 43 inches and a broad jump of 10'9 1/2" in college.  Broke his foot a couple of months ago so I'm not sure of his health.

Well for starters catch the ball. Lee led all draft eligible receivers in college football in drop %. In his last year prior the draft, he had a 12.5% drop rate, again highest amongst the draft receivers.

 

He still has not learned. Meanwhile Cooper has great hands. Not a body catcher either like lee. Very much able to high point and snag balls. What i like best, however is the fluidity. No wasted motion, clean breaks, just the thing you need to really separate yourself in the NFL.

I'm not saying its the same thing in this case, but Marquis Lee didnt become an option till the end of the year when Allen Robinson got hurt.  Our best rookie for most of the year was undrafted Hurns.  It's a bit worriesome.

 

If there is a player in the 2nd/3rd round that has fallen, I would take a chance.

I think if we were to draft a receiver it needs to be someone more like Ty Montgomery or the like. Someone who could add value to the return game as well as the potential of being a solid #3 or slightly better WR. Basically, someone who could do Sanders job, just a lot better.

Worthy is probably going to be a late round or undrafted guy just because he's so unknown.  He was a walk on JUCO QB who was converted to WR at ECU so he's only played 2 years of WR in his entire career.  Really burst on the scene this year with over 1000 receiving in only 11 games.  Obviously Hardy has plenty of college production, but I have a feeling his 40 will be on the slower side and he'll end up in the 3rd or 4th round.

Hurns was the best rookie for one half of football. Robinson was the guy until he got injured.
