Definitely need to add Worilds to any wishlist. I think he could be a very good Otto and shouldn't break the bank even with overpaying.
I am not sure than Jason Worilds is much of a coverage guy. He moves well in space, but Worilds is best in rushing the passer.
Quote:Jones would demand a large contract for someone who's essentially a role player and special teamer. If we're going to spend that kind of money on a return man, I'd rather see it go to Ted Ginn. This is one of those situations in which we probably will agree to disagree. I'm of the opinion if everything is equal in terms of contract, my preference would be Jacoby Jones over Ted Ginn. Of course you might see something in terms of their skill sets that would make Ginn a better option for the Jaguars, which I would respect. Yet, I'm looking at the two players in a typical situation. Both have big play return abilities but I think Jones offers more as a receiver and is more consistent. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
A lot of Dline people getting cut.
Langford I like and Chris Canty. Some good veterans to add to the mix.
I like the idea of Barry Cofield as a backup to Red Bryant, replacing Alualu. That's assuming, of course, that he works out well, passes a physical after missing half of last season to injury (although he did return to play late in the year) and is signed to a low-cost contract. I don't see anyone adding him as a starter, so the contractual part shouldn't be too big of an issue. It's age + injury that I worry about.
Quote:A lot of Dline people getting cut.I remember we were interested in Canty a couple of years back. Maybe they would still have interest in him. Then again he's on the wrong side of 30.

Right now, I'm dreaming of Suh, Hughes, Worilds, McCourty, Bulaga, J. Thomas, Cobb, Wisniewski, Hudson, Franklin, Iupati.
If we can bag any 2 of these players, I will wake up an extremely happy man.

Thomas, Cobb, Wisniewski, Hudson, Franklin, Iupati. How about this scenario (I'm bored); out of your list, would you rather have Wisniewski (or Hudson) and Bulaga, or Suh and Hughes? If you could sign either pair. I LOVE the idea of Hughes, Marks, Suh, and (potentially) Leonard Williams on the Dline, but I think protecting Bortles is absolutely imperative. I think I would go with the offensive lineman, preferably Hudson/Bulaga. If they go in to 2015 with Luke BooWanko and Jaques "where the hell am I?" McClendon as the only centers just one offseason after trying to sign Alex Mack and allowing 71 sacks during the year, I'll be shocked. Either of these 2 scenerios would be great, however Suh and Hughes are the much better choice- mostly because of Suh. Jags could still draft a very good tackle in round 2 such as Fischer and get depth at center with a lower priced free agent or a mid round draft pick. Guys like Suh don't grow on trees.

I never criticized Meester, personally. Even when he got old he was still a serviceable player and a great guy. Bowanko was better than what he replaced, but he's not starter material yet in my opinion. I like him a lot as a backup type player, but not as the guy to protect our QB for 16 games.
I find it very hard to believe that, one offseason after trying to sign the best center in the NFL to a lucrative contract, Caldwell assumes Luke Buwanko will develop enough and stay healthy enough to play a full season without AT LEAST a decent backup. I fully expect a guy we've heard of to get signed (or a rookie to get drafted) at center. We will see. I agree with you about RT, but I'd be surprised to see Caldwell give up on Beadles at LG after one year. Beadles is Caldwell's highest priced free agent signing yet, and his play got better over the second half of 2014. Whether right or wrong, I doubt Caldwell admits he missed on Beadles after one season, and I would expect to see him starting week 1 in 2015. Don't get me wrong, I prefer Mike Iupati to Zane Beadles all day, but he doesn't fit our scheme and it just ain't gonna happen.
Quote:QFT.I don't see how you can label anyone who played on an offensive line that gave up 71 sacks in a season as above average. Especially a rookie 6th round pick. Quote:I don't see how you can label anyone who played on an offensive line that gave up 71 sacks in a season as above average. Especially a rookie 6th round pick. Because I watched the games. Both Bowanko and Linder were above average. Joeckel struggled, Beadles struggled early, and the revolving door at RT was what you would expect.

Oh, you watched the games. You must be right then. My bad. Quote:I never criticized Meester, personally. Even when he got old he was still a serviceable player and a great guy. You are likely to be disappointed. They'll probably try to give him some competition/better depth, but they aren't looking to replace Bowanko. Caldwell on Bowanko: "He went in sooner than we planned, but once he played a few games, no one was questioning who the starting center is." Quote:Oh, you watched the games. You must be right then. My bad. I think I'll defer to Caldwell on this one.
