I think it was someone here who likened this to wanting to be a duck where I realized that people will hold onto their opinions on something no matter how LITTLE they know about it or not.

 

I know zero about Nascar, therefore I do not bang my fist on the table over the merits of it being good/bad or indifferent. If I did, I would probably want to educate myself first before I spouted off on it as if it were the truth so help-me-you know who.

For me, it's never been so much about the change Jenner is going through as it is the fact that I think this was just ESPN/ABC/Disney doing the politically correct thing to stay on the good side of a very aggressive, vocal segment of our society who happen to be the flavor of the day cause right now. 

 

This wasn't and never has been about courage.  It's about payback for throwing the first interview to ABC.  It's about a sports network floundering in irrelevance looking for a story line that might give their award show a bump in ratings which ultimately leads to a fatter bottom line.  If it was truly about courage, Jenner wouldn't have been the pick. 

 

The COURAGEOUS thing to do as a network would have been to select the people who may not garner the ratings bonanza.  ESPN/ABC/Disney chose the weaker path in an effort to pander to the LGBT crowd.  That's certainly their prerogative, and I'm sure there will be a bump in the ratings as a result because some folks just love a freak show.  There might be a few who are inspired by his story, but the curiosity factor revolving around his change is what will draw people to watch for a brief moment.  Just wait.  Jenner will likely be one of the last ones on the broadcast to receive hsi award.

It's only assumed when you know the differences in opinion are in fact wrong. I wouldn't debate a preacher over the bible or else make myself look like a fool. Some just don't care about looking foolish. I've never specifically stated which statements I disagree with (maybe I did a while ago) but the duck post really got me. It was a ridiculous analogy and proved true of the ignorance surrounding this particular subject matter. It's the same people that go right to the "marry an animal" debate when gay marriage is brought up. It becomes ludicrous!


The reason I can say so much of what I read, not just here, is hogwash is because I've been so close to it. You cannot tell someone how to feel. You can be icked out by it, which is what it's all really about anyway, but can't say it's because he wants fame, etc..... Or wants to be a duck
