Difference is they have a QB, he's having a bad year thus far but we know he can play at a high level. We don't.

Actually I heard Eli was sacked 7 times yesterday. Sounds like they are having o line problems just like us.

If you had read the earlier posts, I agree that the roster turnover has had a significant impact on the defense and also special teams.  And, I was not stating that roster turnover does not negatively impact a unit.  However, given that Joeckel is the sole rookie in the base offense, I don't agree that roster turnover is as big of a factor to the offense's poor play today.  On a side note, yes, I played in college for 4 years (1982-1985) at a major university within the previously known Southwest Conference, as a defensive back.  Although I respect your posts, I did not see any reason for your intended insult.  

 

That wasn't an insult.  It was a honest question based on your post, but feel free to get defensive if you need to.

 

I think the roster turnover has more of an impact on the defense.  The negative impact on the offensive side of the roster is tied mostly to the having multiple missing starters missing or hampered (Gabbert, Blackmon, a healthy MJD, Lewis), aging guys like Meester, and two guards who seem out of place.  

 

They blew the defense up, but that unit can be brought along more quickly than an offense normally, and that appears to be the case with this group.  They are improving each week, which is encouraging.  The turnover also hammers special teams, and we're seeing what happens when the bottom of your roster is a revolving door.

I watched Babin last week and this week, and he was playing just as hard in the 4th quarter.


 

I was impressed that an older veteran essentially playing out his career on a disaster of a team was still giving 100% effort in the fourth quarter of a blowout. What a great role model for the younger players.

I would like to see MJD traded for a fifth or sixth round pick, Lewis traded for a third and I hate to say it but Blackmon also for a first round and maybe a late rounder too.  If I'm Caldwell I'd want to accumulate as many picks as possible over the next 2 drafts. MJD is done,, Lewis is free loading and I don't think Blackmon fits the mold that Bradley wants for this team.  He (Bradley) has stressed that he wants guys that llove the game of football and I don't think Blackmon does.  His first love is basketball and he even said in an interview as a prospect in college that football "pays the bills".  Blackmon is a good kid with a big heart  but he's cashed in and I don't think  the Jaguars will ever see him play up to his full potential and should move on.  I say clean house and get those picks ...and for the love of football spend some money in free agency next year!

Although your entire post is, IMO, incredibly ignorant, I couldn't let the "Lewis is freeloading" comment pass.

What do you base this on? You've studied the x-rays, I'm sure.

You can be tired of the losing and frustrated with the won-loss record, but implying professionals are stealing money, with no proof whatsoever, speaks more about you than M. Lewis. The stuff about Blackmon is you talking out your butt.

1. Regarding Cyprien, yes, he has missed some tackles, but he had two hits he put on Raiders receivers that seemed harder than anything Landry had during his time here.  I'm sure I could look up stats that could debunk this statement, but I don't recall Landry forcing any fumbles or having any sacks last year, either.  Also consider he is young and adjusting to the speed of the game and the scheme.  I think barring injury, he'll be a better player week 10 than he is now, and what he is now isn't bad at all.

 

PFF weighed in on Cyprien, and it wasn't favorable. I don't consider PFF as always correct in their ratings. However, it is another data point.
