Hate to break the news to you...Teddy Bridgewater is NOT playing like a guy that wants to be the top pick in the NFL draft next year. He looks more like he's staying in school for his senior year - earning his degree.

 

After reviewing his play last night against UConn, Bridgewater did nothing to help himself out. The 0-8 Huskies (now 0-9) have to be considered an extremely low level of competition. Frankly, they're a mess this year.

 

By all reasonable expectations of a future NFL franchise draft pick, Teddy should have spent the second half on the sideline with his ball cap on. Instead, he managed just one TD throw and lots and lots of dropped balls, which are uncanny for November.

 

 His deep throws looked like Texas League cans of corn. Way up there in the stratosphere. Surprised the ball wasn't scorched upon reentry.

 

His play raises more questions than answers...

 

Sean Mannion of Oregon State is blowing just about every college football QB out of the water. He's a red-shirt sophomore playing under former NFL head coach Mike Riley, making him draft eligible. I've seen three or so You Tube videos of him. He's the ideal pro-style QB, certainly one we need to look at.

 

I still think it's best to keep Gabbert and draft Tulsa QB Cody Green later on in the draft.

I didn't even watch the game, but I'm pretty sure I know how it played out:

• Played with poise in the pocket, sidestepping most sacks, though possibly dropping once or twice due to subpar o line play.
  
• Lead his receivers both in terms of ball placement and leadership ability.
  
• Use excellent touch on passes, usually deep corners and outs.
  
• Ran maybe three times for around 25 yards.
  
• Overall, played exactly how you want from a quarterback despite a lackluster supporting cast.

That's about it, he had only one real bad throw which lead to a pick. Honestly, he had probably close to 10 perfectly thrown balls that were dropped. I mean they hit the guys right in the hands and were just dropped... I don't know if it was the cold or what?

Man I can't wait until Bridgewater is under center for us. My roommates are both redskins fans and they know Teddy is going to be a jag and that he's going to be better than RG3. We were watching highlights of the game last night and they showed the interception and they were like 'oh terrible throw' .. 'Espn is ripping on Teddy' .. And I just sat back, didn't say anything, cause I know they are jealous that he's going to come in and outplay RG3 and last way longer.

Louisville junior QB Teddy Bridgewater completed 21 of 37 attempts for 288 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 31-10 win over UConn.

 


The numbers might not show it, but Bridgewater was very impressive. He dealt with multiple drops in this game and delivered passes to every level of the defense. Bridgewater continues to display excellent pocket movement. The interception saw Bridgewater throw vertically along the sideline against a full blitz, with the safety undercutting a pass that was lofted too much.

i only saw the first half and he played but judging from his overall stats he played terrible in the 2nd half. and his running game wasnt doing so well, so im wondering if he can succeed or do as well as hes been doing without a running game?

i know but statically it was his worst game of the season and his running game also wasnt as good as its been maybe there was a correlation.  i was just asking to those who religiously watch louisville football because our running game has not been good, its barely even average lol
