Could the Jaguars trade Scobee? Ryan O thinks so. (Scobee Traded to steelers)

Looks like it was a 6th rounder according to O'Halloran

I also hope to see Josh retire a Jag in the future.
This. And I hope Myers has Scobee-like ice in his veins for the close calls because from what we've seen so far, this team has not arrived yet. I believe Blake has advanced light years from this time last year, but the team, not so much.

I know a lot of people think we need to move away from "the FG score just saved our bacon!" mindset and into the "we are going to win with TD's" one. And I agree. But it is nice that we have had a solid player who we knew could put points on the board (almost) no matter what. The team no longer has that safety net so it's definitely a "we ARE GOING TO win with TD's".

A 6th for Gabbert and a 6th for a kicker? Caldwell really is a genius.

One of the greatest mysteries in history is how he was able to get a 6th for Gabbert.

Turned that pick into Bowanko who has been a great center.

Caldwells track record of solid late round picks offsets the cons of going into the season without a proven kicker.

I dunno about "great."

He started last year, almost by default.

He didn't often induce projectile vomiting when he played.

Bowanko was okay.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

An 6th for Scobee is a steal for the Steelers. I was kinda hoping for an 5th but as others have stated, Caldwell does well within the late rounds...

Could probably have gotten a 5th had Pitt had a 5th to give.

It's pretty simple, actually. Scobee is one of the better kickers in NFL history, but because kickers are fairly low-value players (until you spend a year with Seth Marler, anyway), he's only worth a six. Gabbert is one of the worse quarterbacks in NFL history, but because quarterbacks are high-value players, he's still worth a six. It's a remarkable balance, really.
