Fire Gus Comments

Quote:I love how people are justifying the whole body of work to fire the coach. If you have not realized it by now, we have done a complete strip of the roster basically, from the ground up. If you go back and look at the trades, releases, and whatever, there's not much of what's left of the team a few years ago be it free agent signings or draft picks. They were very clear that this was a rebuild and have not shied away from that. What made any of you think that this year would be any different? Especially considering we were without our 2 best players on both sides of the ball.If you had no knowledge of last years schedule or this years schedule would you say this was the 2014 Jags or 2015 Jags? Quote:Caldwell's done a good job of turning over the roster IMO. They're far from a finished product but they're way better talent-wise than they were when Caldwell arrived. The salary cap is also in good shape. The problem is talent development and on-field coaching. It's non-existent. Last year we were beating the Eagles 17-0 at the half I believe. Final score? 34-17. One could go through a complete list of games identifying how bad our halftime adjustments were ...... and now it continues in 2015.
Quote: Welcome back from Iraq. We really appreciate your services to this Country. Let me update you...... 2015 - 0 wins / 1 loss 2014 - 3 wins / 13 losses 2013 - 4 wins / 12 losses Total 7 wins / 26 losses

Quote:I think Caldwell is the guy. I have very little issue with Caldwell. I think he can acquire the talent we need to win. My issue is with Gus and mostly only GusMe too.
Caldwell has done well enough to where he should get another chance at picking a coach. Hopefully he brings in somebody with experience and a track record of developing players. Gus is a buffoon and I'm tired of his big balloon head.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!
To piggyback on Hurricane's records compilation, let's put this in additional perspective. Let's look at the starting records.
2015: 0-1 looking at a strongly possible 0-4 2014: 0-6 2013: 0-8 2012: 1-9 2011: 2-6 Combined starting records: 3-30 We have to go back to 2012 to have a win in September. What does the cumulative effect of those early season records have on fan morale? Tom Cruise in the movie "Jerry Maguire summed it up best: Quote: Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Right, because they didn't change anything from last season to this. And therein lies the problem. Even after all the changes that have been made, the Jags don't look any different on the field then they did 30 something games ago when they got beat by a bad Raider team by nearly the identical score. Same coach, different team, but same results. Why is that??
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I like Gus. But why the hell do you keep these wide receivers around? They drop so many passes, it makes me sick! I am getting to a point where I expect it. It doesn't bother me like it used to. I used to yell and scream at the television, but now... I just sit in silence and almost laugh at it. I love my Jags, but this is comical. Our wide outs are garbage, but our coaches don't seem to believe it.
-Eric
Eric,
In fairness, the receivers have at most, one full season and one game's worth of experience. Though the drops are annoying and drive killers, you've got to give them a reasonable time to develop. Drafting two receivers in the second round one year and jettisoning them both in the second year in the absence of any catastrophic injury or completely aberrant behavior on their behalf and not giving them the opportunity to improve is very short sighted and not the most productive use of picks. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Eric,One season and one game is the point in a receiver's career where they better be hitting their peak, at least if they're Jaguar receivers. To heck with historical perspective that receivers can take 2 or even 3 years to really develop. There's no time for that nonsense any more. If a receiver isn't panning out by year 2, it's time to move on. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Soooo, just going to continue repeating yourself in every thread huh? I've been sticking to the topic depending on the thread. Your referring to your boy fbt. He's been repeating that WEEK ONE mantra in every thread. He's the message boards parrot. Quote:I've been sticking to the topic depending on the thread. Your referring to your boy fbt. He's been repeating that WEEK ONE mantra in every thread. He's the message boards parrot. You haven't said anything new for years. Fire everyone, Jaguars suck, everyone's gotta go, etc... Or you just flip it in a sarcastic tone. Huge difference between posters like you and posters like bullseye who breaks things down, offers insight, looks a things good and bad, etc... Anyways, carry on, just an observation. FBT, we are apparently "boys". Why you never come to my tailgates? That's messed up. What kind of friend are you?
