No Jags to the Pro Bowl (MERGED)

Quote:The media goes nuts over passing touchdowns. Usually rushing touchdowns by quarterbacks are an afterthought. The only reason they talked about Mariota's rushing score was he went 87 yards.
The media doesn't go nuts over passing touchdowns thrown by the losing QB in a game.  Mariota's run was a worthy highlight and was a score that pretty much sealed the win for them.  An 87 yard touchdown is never going to be an afterthought regardless of who is carrying the rock.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

That's why I said "because he went 87 yards." If it was only 8 yards nobody would say much about it.

If your team loses I don't see how they can win something like this.

No Fun

Gus will also be snubbed for Coach of the year, but I doubt anyone will start a thread about it.

One good snub deserves another.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Quote:Blake Bortles and Allen Robinson were both nominated for AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Bortles threw for 322 yards and five touchdowns, while Robinson caught three touchdowns and 153 yards. Instead, Brandon Marshall won the award. He caught 12 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown. Quote from nfl.com:

I beg to differ. Our players were superior in every way other than the fact that the Jets won and we lost. In which case, it's not really an individual award. What are your thoughts?
Stats don't count more than wins... get it through your head. Until we start winning, we can have all the stats in the world and we will still be viewed as unworthy.

Quote:Yeah, a strong case can be made that you are in fact correct, BB and AROB could've/should've gotten the nod.

However, sometimes it has alot more to do with the performance other than numbers posted (not all the time though).

Marquee matchup in a critical game (NY vs NY),, catching a critical TD for the win,, and posting solid numbers.

~or~

Jags vs Titans,, a game that most people could care less about,, both teams "perceived" to be absolute dregs,, and the players posting terrific numbers lost anyway (not that it was their fault).

I can understand it.

note- I have a strong feeling that Jags players are going to start getting nods for these types of "awards" not too far off in the future. When they start winning more frequently and getting more attention, Bortles/ARob/Hurns/Yeldon/Thomas will have some of these "player of the week" nods.
exactly.

Only if you are a broncos fan.

And Meyers won't be selected for an all pro roster spot.

You are right, I won't start a thread on either. I'll start a riot!!!

Wow, thanks for that clarification Captain Obvious.

First alternate is actually not bad. Maybe another WR will back out of it.

We are a low market 5-11 team.  I can't say I'm surprised.

Pro Bowl has been turned into a damn joke.

5-9, not 5-11

You never know, we might win one or both of our last two games.

Yeah, lots of guys drop out - especially the older players. Some guys gets hurt and can't play in it. Then there is one of the reasons I hate the Pro Bowl: Super Bowl participants can't play in it.
