Khan: "I regret not rebuilding sooner."

Khan is a newbie NFL owner. We will suffer as fans for years while he figures out it takes football people to run a football team. Anybody with any football sense knows you avoid distractions, not create them.

Just play football. Worry about distractions.

Khan's team is running around with data collection devices on their necks.

Forget about money ball. This is the developmental stages of robo-ball.

Let's say Kahn did start the rebuild right away. I for one like Caldwell and Bradley until they show me why I shouldn't. If the rebuild started the first year, would we have gotten guys like we currently have? Or would we have gotten some others that we would be highly questioning right now? I know one year later is too soon but, you know what I mean.

Quote:The Sideshow Khan barb refers to the fact anybody with any kind of football sense knows to avoid distractions during a football season.

The old saying goes, "don't waste your life trying to warm yourself up to society. Live your life and let society warm itself up to you."

Play football. Just play football. Avoid distractions. Just play football.

Tom Brady is the most famous NFL football player in the world. He played the game. He won the fame.

Just play football.

I've never heard this saying that you quoted.  Is there a source you can cite?

It sounds like a mangled version of, "To thine own self be true" - Hamlet (Polonius' remarks to Ophelia's brother, I forget his name)

LOL, Daniel Snyder was a new owner like a decade ago and he's still make dumb mistakes that I don't think Khan will ever make.  In terms of Owners, I think we have a decent one.

Green Bay's type of ownership is one I wish more cities would try to figure out...  But that's a whole different sardine to stomach.

Good point.

At the very least,  it's extremely likely that Gus Bradley wouldn't be the Jaguars HC if the rebuilding process began in the winter of 2012 instead of the winter of 2013.  The emergence of the Seahawks Defense into a formidable unit in 2012,  with playoff success,  led to Bradley becoming a HC candidate for multiple teams.

As opposed to the Schwinn you ride to work each day? I'll bet the glitter on that banana seat is just the right color.

BTW  - Of course Khan wishes he had started with Caldwell/Bradley instead of Smiff/Mularkey.   How is that not obvious?

Anyone remember the demeanor of players last year in interviews?  Have you noticed them lately.  That Gus-Juice is real, people.  He's got 'em bought in.

Some of it is pretty hokey rah-rah from the outside looking in - but I bet if you took one of the most cynical posters here and had him  shadow Gus Bradley for two weeks he/she would be on the juice as well.  The dude is an excellent motivator that knows his football, IMO.
This I completely agree with, it is so much better to here Gus and his positive attitude. I was so tired of the old down and out Jags, and you can tell he didn't lose the team. We finally got a winner for a coach, a real leader of men. I hope he is with us a long time.

Quote:Can he afford a comb or scissors? Laughing

And exactly why is the above relevant??

Are you disputing my claim that he looks kinda straggly with that hair of his? Especially for a man of his prominence? I've seen older pictures of Khan where he looked like a well groomed professional businessman....what happened?
Khan is the man, let him be how he wants.

I wore a shirt with a mustard stain half the day today, you know why? Cause I can. And I don't need any extra laundry. No excuses for the Khan man, he can look how he wants, just gotta make those trains run on time and take showers so he don't smell! Its all good B) !

Quote:The best decision Shad Khan made to compensate for the mistake he made last year is he didn't force Dave Caldwell to keep Mike Mularkey as the team's Head Coach for another season.  It's not a knock on Mularkey.   In a rebuilding problem though,  it's important that the G.M. can select the HC he feels most comfortable with moving the team forward.
Admit it, it is a knock on Mularky. He bad.

I should rebuke you FBT, this is just mean. Okay fine I will: Be nice FBT! (it was just a little bit funny though!). You took your Burger flippin' comments to a whole new level. But still, be nice to Mad Dog!

Maybe.

However,  he's the only Buffalo Bills Head Coach this millennium that had a winning season with that team.   If Mike Mularkey fits the 'he bad' category,  what does that say for the other Bills HC's since 2000?    Not to mention their organization as a whole.
