Jags are 30th in this week's NFL.com Power Rankings

Quote:Who ever thought that being 30th in the league could feel so good? The Jags bump up 2 spots and sit at 30th right above Atlanta and Houston.WEZ GONNA BE NUMBER 1ZZZ! Quote:Monroe is a building block tooYou don't know what you are talking about. I got bashed all over the place for merely suggesting we talk about Joeckel in the draft. Had to write past a bunch of people. Several of us knew if Luke was thrown into the mix at tackle, everybody would see exactly what an elite franchise left tackle looks like. How long did it take him to earn the LT position? It seems obvious that Monroe was dealt for multiple picks relating to a poor attitude about accommodating the wishes of the new coaching staff. His poor team attitude may have actually led to Joeckel's freak injury. Monroe was a dog in the manger about moving to right tackle. Luke took the job willingly. Then when Monroe was finally dealt, Luke had to quickly become reacquainted with the left side with no training camp under his belt. Very deceptive guy. Luke, apart from a crowd, doesn't look like a 6 ft. 6 in. 309 Lbs. giant. He didn't even run the measurable stuff at the Combine well at all. Yet when he hit the field for the position stuff is was pure elite movement and skills. There's not a former rookie in the NFL that won't tell you that it takes lots of time to catch up the game. Luke is going to be a good one for a lot of years provided he heals up.

Quote:How does an injured Clowney who shows up for only half the game fix our offense? Newsflash, our offense has been the bigger problem for years, especially at the QB position. Schaub is nearly as useless as Henne, and Falcons will never waive Ryan We've been outscored this year 324-133 It's safe to say that our defense has left a lot to be desired. I've said it before, and I'll reiterate- It doesn't matter how good your QB is, if your defense can't stop your opponent's QB. Basketball on grass may be entertaining to some, but good defense gets you to glory.
Quote:We've been outscored this year 324-133Maybe in the college game. In the pros it's much different. You run the football and stop the run. This is the highest level of competition in the world. Those that suggest the college game is better never played the game at the highest level.

We're in the bottom tenth of the league in run defense, and Clowney would certainly change that. Where did I even come close to suggesting the college game is better than the pros?
Quote:You don't know what you are talking about. I got bashed all over the place for merely suggesting we talk about Joeckel in the draft. Had to write past a bunch of people. I don't think Monroe was dealt for any reason other than that he was set to become a free agent at the end of the year and the Jaguars thought he would be difficult to re-sign. And they thought it would be easier to acquire a RT than to sign a free agent LT. But I never heard anything about a poor attitude. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:We've been outscored this year 324-133 If your opponents defense has no difficulty stopping your QB, then you aren't going to have success either. In fact our defense will improve when our QB can extend drives, and keep our team off the field. Better field position will only help Scobee's stats at this point.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

In fact our defense will improve when our QB can extend drives, and keep our team off the field. Better field position will only help Scobee's stats at this point. I didn't say qb wasn't important, but just getting a new qb isn't going to suddenly make us competitive. Not even if his last name was Manning. In fact our defense will improve when our QB can extend drives, and keep our team off the field. Better field position will only help Scobee's stats at this point. Our defense has already improved. Matter of fact that's the only reason we won the Texans game because all the offense did was put together one good drive for seven then shut it down for the game. I'd rather get an elite defensive player in the first and improve on the building of this defense. We're bound to get at least a decent quarterback at some point in the next three seasons. Quote:If someone told you we'd be ahead of ATL and HOU at the beggining of the season, you'd probably think that would mean we'd be a #1 or #2 seed in the playoffs. It definitely shows how unpredictable the NFL often is from season to season. About the only 2 things predictable in the league year to year with the various teams is the Patriots have had a winning season each year since 2001 and the Bills haven't been to the playoffs since the 1999 season. Someone on the forum mentioned a variation of the following the other day but it comes to mind here. Gus Bradley and his coaching staff are doing a very good job considering the Jaguars probably have closer to 0-11 talent available than 2-9 talent. Two consecutive road wins, regardless of the opposition, is an impressive accomplishment in the NFL. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Well our run d is improving and as the secondary gets more experience they will get better too
I think we still need that elite pass rusher and a run stuffing dt urgently to have a solid defense Since the bye our d has looked much better and even before our defense was keeping us in the game despite repeated three and outs You saw the Houston d when that happened to them watt looked beat as we kept on moving the chains if we can find a qb that can reliably convert third and 4 and some more pieces at the center and left guard to open up running lanes I think that would have more of an effect on our team as a whole
We are definitely getting better - not sure that we deserve the 30 spot but I will take it!
