If we can get him in the 3rd or 4th round, that'd be awesome.

After listening to Prisco on Jags Live earlier today, he mentioned Vernon as a good possible signing that the team should look into, and characterized him as fast and a bit of nasty that the Jags need.

I am down in Ft Lauderdale this week, and the local sports radio station that covers the Dolphins were talking about off season moves.  They seemed to think the Dolphins want to re-sign him, but likely won't have the cap ability to sign him to what some other team will pay.  With Suh's monster deal last year, they speculated that the Dolphins won't spend more than $6m for Vernon.  However, they had an agent in studio recently that thought Vernon would likely see a $10m figure on the market, using the Saints/Jordan deal with similar performance and salary as reference.

Keep an eye on Vernon...

I like Vernon, but his pass rush stats are overrated and he had a few really really costly and stupid personal fouls this year, including the one that gifted us the game against them this past year.

I don't see how his stats are overrated. He did what we couldn't do: get to the passer.

The more I read into Vernon, the more I want him here. If the PFF stats are correct, then he is a monster at getting pressure on the QB.

I would easily pay 10M a season for a 25 year old, up-and-coming pass rusher.

lol @ Treestone saying his pass rushing stats are overrated while not providing proof for said statement

Yeah this guy should be our primary or one of our primary targets in free agency. All around beast at a position of need for our team. Reminds me of the Hayward signing years ago just hope he doesn't sustain a major injury when we get him.

He may not be a cornerstone pass rusher like a Justin Houston but he and a healthy Fowler are a serious step up from the duo we're about to send packing.

Serious serious.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
